UWCSEA is seeking a passionate and committed Teacher of High School Economics and/or Business Management to join our Dover Campus in August 2025.

The successful candidate will primarily teach IB Diploma Economics (Grades 11 and 12) and/or IB Diploma Business Management, with opportunities to teach our bespoke UWCSEA Economics and Social Enterprise courses to students in Grades 9 and 10.

The Economics and Business Department is a large team composed of enthusiastic and dynamic teachers who work in a very well-resourced environment for learning. Teachers are actively engaging in resource development across each of the UWC courses. Collectively the team is striving to ensure all students can access learning and excel to the best of their abilities.

Experience in and enthusiasm for offering IB Diploma Theory of Knowledge would be an advantage but is not essential. The actual determination of classes will be dependent on the skill set of the appointee, the needs of our students and timetabling requirements. Person Specifications

• A degree in Economics/Business and a teaching qualification is a prerequisite.
• Experience or interest in curriculum development and assessment design is advantageous.
• Extensive experience of teaching Economics and/or Social Enterprise related courses for Grade 9 and 10 students would be advantageous.
• Extensive experience of teaching IBDP Economics and Business Management (or these subjects at a similar level) would be advantageous.
• Pastoral leadership of a mentor group in Grades 9-12.

UWCSEA is seeking a passionate and committed Teacher of High School Physical Education and Sports Science to join our Dover Campus in August 2025.

We are also looking for an educator who is positive and enthusiastic about collaborating with a large vibrant team of dynamic teachers who comprise the Physical Education Department. UWCSEA is a large campus and has excellent and extensive sporting facilities. The appointee will teach mostly in High School, although may also be required to teach some Middle School classes and will play an active role in continually supporting our positive environment in order for all students to thrive.

Main Responsibilities

• Teachers construct learning experiences that challenge students, support the diversity of learners in each class. This includes demonstrating a strong commitment to concept based teaching and learning, along with a commitment to putting intercultural understanding into practice within the classroom.
• Teachers ensure assessments support ongoing learning and provide timely, relevant and appropriate feedback to students.
• Teachers keep parents informed about their children's learning, and are proactive in communication with parents.
• Teachers demonstrate effective class management that shows an understanding of the academic, social and emotional dimensions of learning.
• Teachers support personal and social emotional learning through academic classes. As Mentors they also work collaboratively with the Heads of Grade, Counselling, Learning Support and EAL departments as part of a student support services team in order to support all students in thriving.
• Teachers contribute positively to the collaborative culture of the Physical Education Department and all elements of the learning programme.
• Capable and willing to coach teams throughout the year as part of the Activity programme.

Person Specifications

• A good degree and a recognised teaching qualification or certification are expected.
• Successful prior experience of teaching Physical Education in the 14-­18 age range is required.
• Experience of teaching academic PE/Sports Science courses is required.
• Specific experience of IB Sports, Exercise and Health Science is an advantage.
• Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal skills, experience and pedagogical knowledge in areas outlined by the UWCSEA Learning Principles and the UWCSEA Profile.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively, communicate clearly, self­-manage and to think and act in critical, creative and innovative ways to support teaching and learning.
• Academic expectations include enthusiastic participation in Professional Learning
• Pastoral expectations include the leadership of a mentor group unless the teacher is exempted due to other responsibilities
• On average the College expects a yearly contribution of two sessions per week in each season to Activities and/or Service.
• Teachers should be willing and eager to participate in the five key elements of a UWCSEA education: Academics; Activities; Outdoor Education; Personal and Social Education and Service
• The College expects that teachers will participate enthusiastically in the curricular Outdoor Education experiences which are relevant to their students and will also occasionally volunteer for holiday Outdoor Education trips.
