Special Educational Needs Teacher (Pathway 3)

An outstanding and inspirational Special Educational Needs teacher is required for August 2024.

Within our school’s unique pathway 3 provision we offer an adapted and personalised curriculum to students with a range of learning needs and disabilities. The pathway 3 provision offers a safe and nurturing environment in which children can progress joyfully in their academic, social, and emotional development. We have pathway 3 classes across both primary and secondary phases of the school, from Year 1 to Year 13. Job Purpose:

The Art Teacher is responsible for developing each child interest in arts and the ability to express their artistic ability and creativity, to acquire knowledge and aesthetic understanding, to nurture and develop talents.

Job Responsibility:

• Prepare course materials and execute planned art curriculum lessons in group settings.
• Educate and nurture child to express artistic ability, creativity through principles of art and techniques.
• Demonstrate art techniques in activities including drawing and painting.
• Provide guidance by which children develop aesthetic concepts and appreciations.
• Guide and explain to children on proper care and use of art materials and tools.

Job Requirement:

Job description:

- Plan, supervise and deliver the programme in accordance with the policies, guidelines, frameworks and philosophy of School

- Prepare and implement programmes and age-appropriate teaching aids

- Keep accurate records of the children’s progress and address the children’s educational and developmental needs individually

- Complete the progress reports of the children for each semester and prepare developmental portfolio for every child

- Communicate with parents via the Communication Book at least once a week, weekly team newsletters and conferences

- Meet the parents to address any concerns

- Use positive discipline techniques at all times

- Render basic first aid as and when necessary
