Duties and Repsonsibilitites

• Primary responsibility is to ensure that students have appropriately written individual education plans and that these plans are being implemented in all school settings.

• Plans must be developed following a process that reviews and considers all relevant factors including assessment data curriculum-based measurements and input from all team members.

• Is also responsible to monitor the plan to ensure program compliance: that required timelines are being observed; that direct services, accommodations, modifications and other services indicated on the plan are being implemented in all school settings; and that the student is benefitting from the services provided.

• Communicate with Principal - the teacher needs to make sure the principal has a list of all the students for whom the teacher is responsible and access to those students’ IEPs. The teacher must notify the principal if any part of a student’s plan is not being implemented appropriately despite the teacher’s efforts to correct the problems via consultation with other school personnel.

• Keep all confidential documents, such as IEPs and evaluations, in a secure location (records must be locked in a cabinet), this includes computer files.

• Manage Special Education Assistant Teacher(s): express expectations; hold regular conferences; provide frequent feedback; clarify preferred disciplinary practices and classroom routines.

• Maintain regular contact with parents: send positive notes home as much as possible; keep parents abreast of school events; send progress reports home as indicated in the IEP.

• Manage behaviour programs: develop and maintain student behaviour management programs; communicate with teachers and other involved personal regarding behaviour management programs.

Job Responsibilities:

• Plan, supervise and implement the programme for the class in accordance with centre’s policies and framework
• Complete progress reports on children for each semester and prepare a developmental portfolio for each child
• Set up and create a stimulating and engaging pleasant learning environment that promotes self-directed learning
• Responsible for all aspects of classroom management and carry out routine care duties to ensure safety and hygiene of the children
• Work closely with the other teaching staff in the class in carrying out the duties
• Build and maintain close partnership with parents

Requirements:

• Minimum Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education
• Certified by ECDA at L2 category
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• High tolerance level towards children is an advantage
• Able to work well independently as well as within a team

Contract Period: From 1 Jan 2025 to 31 Dec 2025.

Working hours:

· 32.5 hours per week based on a 5-day work week (excluding a 30 minutes break per day)

· Mondays to Fridays, 7:00 am to 1:30pm

· The above work schedule is inclusive of a 30-minute break and also applicable to school holidays.

Scope of Services:

Recess Duty

· Daily supervision duty at Canteen during recess time (6 recesses a day) and lunch time (up to 2 lunches 3 times a week)

Teacher Relief Support

· Relief duty in looking after pupils in classes/CCAs that have no teachers in attendance during/after school as assigned by Year Heads

After-School Dismissal Duty

· Daily supervision duty at main gate during dismissal time

Exam Matters and Teaching Materials

· Prepare teaching resources for teachers and department heads

· Scan Optical Answer Sheets for P3 to P6 exams

· Check, count and sort report books according to class register numbers after exams

Other Duties

· Update P1 to P6 class allocation at the end of the year

· Print and check mass class allocation input

· Assist in pre-event duties for Prelims and PSLE duties such as putting up labels and seating plans in all classrooms

· Support in Prelims and PSLE duties as liaison officers on all days of examinations (Oral, Listening, Written)

· Assist in pre-event administrative duties for P1 Orientation

· Collate and place food orders for all exam standardisation exercises during school examination periods (WA1, WA2, Prelims, SA2)

· Assist in packing goodies bags for events like National Day, Teachers’ Day, Children Day events and counting of pamphlets

· Collate pupils’ and parents’ feedback from pupils’/parents’ surveys

· Taking down and typing out minutes of Contact Time meetings

· Data entry duties as assigned by Principal, Vice Principals, Head of Department and Year Heads

· Perform any other duties as assigned by Principal, Vice Principals, Head of Department and Year Heads

Qualification, Skill & Experience:

· GCE ‘O’ Level or equivalent

· Proficient in English Language and Chinese Language

· Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

· Preferably with similar experiences working with children aged 7-12

· Must be a team player

· Good interpersonal and communication skills

· Able to multi-task and work independently

· Medically fit
