vii) Ad-hoc matters as assigned by the PM which is necessary for the execution of the project.

We are seeking highly motivated Semiconductor Laser Scientist/Principal Engineers to join our team and contribute to the development of innovative chip-based laser solutions for laser-to-silicon photonics applications. The successful candidates will play a pivotal role in driving the design, development, and optimization of on-chip semiconductor lasers for Si photonics applications, collaborating with external fabs, universities, and research institutes.

Responsibilities

• Develop innovative on-chip laser solutions for advanced silicon photonics applications
• Develop and optimize on-chip laser fabrication processes, including epitaxial design, wafer processing, and packaging
• Contribute to the development of innovative laser fabrication techniques and technologies, such as heterogeneous and hybrid integration of lasers with silicon photonics platforms
• Collaborate with external fabs and research institutes to ensure efficient and cost-effective fabrication of high-quality laser devices
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate lasers into complex photonic systems
• Support the transition of laser products from research to commercialization

Qualification

• PhD or Masters Degree in Science and Engineering, Physics, Applied Physics, or a related discipline in Optics and Photonics
• Minimum 2 years of experience in semiconductor laser development or a related field
• Strong understanding of semiconductor laser physics, device design, and fabrication processes
• Experience with laser characterization and measurement techniques
• Proficiency in using simulation tools (e.g., Lumerical) for laser design and analysis
• Knowledge of packaging and integration technologies for semiconductor lasers and silicon photonics
• Experience in laser-to-silicon photonics applications
• Experience in commercial Si Photonics product design and product engineering is a plus.
