Job Description – Product Configuration & Obsolescence Engineer

• Responsible for configuration management and release management

• Responsible for obsolescence management

• Maintain product configuration status for hardware and software version control

• Execute product identification process and ensure part numbering and serial numbering are maintained

• Ensure compliance to ECO process for hardware, software and mechanical design changes

• Ensure implementation of approved ECO to production

• Manage electronic component obsolescence notification from service partner

Requirements

• Degree in Electronics or Mechanical Engineering with at least 2 years relevant experience

• Good working knowledge of configuration management, release management, ECO management and obsolescence management

• Working knowledge of PLM and PDM tools

• Ability to read schematic, PCB layout and mechanical drawings, is an added advantage

Job Description:

1. Architect and develop a robust, scalable, and secure NVR system.

2. Implement and ensure compliance with the ONVIF protocol for seamless integration with a variety of IP cameras and devices.

3. Configure and manage HTTPS servers to secure communication channels for NVR services.

4. Manage RTSP streams for real-time video recording, playback, and streaming functionalities.

5. Design and implement efficient storage solutions, including support for local storage and NAS

6. Ensure the system adheres to high-security standards, including encryption, strong authentication, and regular updates to mitigate vulnerabilities.

7. Create detailed technical documentation and provide support for troubleshooting and system maintenance.

8. Ensure that implementation conforms to the coding standards and engineering processes.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

2. Minimum of 3-7 years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on NVR systems.

3. Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, or Java.

4. In-depth knowledge of network protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, HTTPS, RTSP, and ONVIF.

5. Experience with setting up and managing HTTPS servers, SSL/TLS certificates.

6. Strong understanding of video compression and streaming technologies (e.g., H.264, H.265).

7. Expertise in Linux, including kernel configuration, scripting, and system administration.

8. Familiarity with database systems and data management for video storage and retrieval.

9. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex system issues.

10. Proven ability to lead a project, work collaboratively in a team environment, and mentor junior engineers.

Additional Skills (Advantageous):

1. Relevant certifications in network security, ONVIF compliance, or video surveillance technologies.

2. Experience with video management systems or AI-based video analytics

3. Experience in leading NVR development projects.

As Technical Delivery Manager (TDM) for Data Governance initiatives, you will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the successful implementations. The role involves coordinating with cross-functional teams, understanding business requirements, and ensuring the alignment of technical solutions with data governance objectives. Key responsibilities for this role are:

• Project Leadership: Lead planning, execution, and delivery of Business Glossary, Metadata management and Data lineage solution, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

• Requirements Analysis: Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and analyse requirements, translating them into actionable project plans.

• Tool Selection and Implementation: Oversee selection and implementation of metadata management tool, ensuring it meet the organization's needs and integrate effectively with existing systems. Conduct POCs involving new data technologies. Prioritize implementation scope for incremental coverage; Independently install, customise and integrate software packages and programs. Maintain and recommend software improvements to ensure a platform centric management of software applications

• Lifecycle Management: Manage full lifecycle of metadata management and data lineage initiatives, from conception and design to implementation, maintenance, and optimization of end to end data lineage extraction; provide remediation for broken data lineage across multiple technologies, products and platforms. Review & deliver documents such as solution design, program specifications for target solutions

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data stewards, IT professionals, and business analysts, infrastructure & information security teams, to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to metadata management and data lineage; Create frameworks, technical features which helps in establishing end to end data lineage for Critical Data Elements

• Quality Assurance: Implement quality assurance processes to ensure the accuracy, consistency, performance & SLA monitoring and completeness of metadata and data lineage information in SIT, UAT and production environment

• Vendor Management: Coordinate with vendors providing metadata management solutions, overseeing their contributions to the successful implementation of the projects.

• Project Management & Risk Management: Plan, execute, and deliver metadata management and data lineage projects within scope, on time, and within budget. Identify and mitigate risks associated with metadata management and data lineage projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

• Training and Documentation: Provide inputs for training programs and ensure documentation to enhance understanding and adoption of metadata management and data lineage best practices within the organization.

• Performance Monitoring: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor the performance of metadata management and data lineage initiatives, making adjustments as needed to meet objectives.

• Stakeholder Communication: Maintain transparent and effective communication with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress, challenges, and resolutions. Convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders in simple ways.

• Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives, staying abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance Business Glossary, Metadata management and Data lineage capabilities within the organization.
