About the Role

As a Project Engineer or Site Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of our projects. Your responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing engineering, planning, quality, cost control, and scheduling functions.
• Adhering to the McConnell Dowell Project Execution Plan and safety/environmental responsibilities.
• Assisting senior engineers and the construction manager in daily site activities.
• Monitoring and reporting on site progress, including direct employee and subcontractor works.
• Developing procedures for construction activities and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
• Representing McConnell Dowell professionally in interactions with clients and stakeholders.
• Promoting McConnell Dowell’s core values and fostering a strong safety culture.

What We’re Looking For

To excel in this role, you should have:

• A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. 3 to 5 years of relevant on-site civil construction experience.
• Preferably, local experience and knowledge of civil infrastructure projects in Singapore.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• The ability to work on an alternate 6-day workweek schedule.

Roles & Responsibilities

Job Description:

• Handle project planning, scheduling, monitoring and updating to meet project completion targets
• Perform site planning, coordination and inspection relating to the construction project so as to ensure that project completion timeline, requirements and budget are met
• Liaise with the BIM team to update the drawings or BIM Model with the latest information available timely
• Prepare as-built drawings or BIM Model and compile O&M Manual for submission
• To assist in project coordination and oversee of all Civil and Structural works on site and ensure all related activities are carried out as per drawings
• Review architectural & structural submission documents & submission drawings prior relevant authorities' submission
• Assist the Project team in site walk-down survey with other discipline engineers and Client representatives as required, in resolving technical issues until construction completion
• Liaise with internal and external parties for project management
• Any ad-hoc duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience
• Recognized Degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management, Structural Engineering or equivalent approved by PEB, BOA or SISV
• Good knowledge of technical design and engineering, construction methodology and construction planning
• Good oral, written and inter-personal communications skills in dealing with individuals and groups at all levels
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and knowledge of BIM
• Independent, diligent, highly motivated with excellent team spirit and cope in a fast-paced environment
• Obtain CONQUAS supervisor certificate will be added advantage

You are responsible for the day to day management of our custom-build job shop fabrication environment, to maximize productivity and cost-savings. This will require you to plan, implement and monitor work schedules and supervise the production process with various parties. You will also need to evaluate and resolve any production-related discrepancies and problems, as well as ensure meeting all permits required by regulatory authorities.

Responsibilities

• Work with the production team to innovate and improve existing fabrication processes.
• Develop and implement quality control measures to repeatedly deliver desired results.
• Oversee the maintenance of factory and equipment for maximum safety and efficiency.
• Adhere to statutory requirements and company enforced rules and regulations
• Coordinate with project personnel to receive/clarify customers’ requirements.
• Apply problem solving skills and work with production supervisors, draftsmen to derive fabrication solutions upon receipt of design drawings.
• Value engineer solutions to optimize cost savings.
• Plan production processes and allocate/deconflict resources for scheduling delivery.
• Track production output, cost and progress to ensure quality, budget and delivery targets are met.
• Coordinate and work with specialist vendors to ensure quality and project requirements are met.
• Lead, organize or participate in daily discussions to ensure smooth production operations.

Requirements

• Minimum Diploma or Bachelor degree in Engineering;
• At least 2+ years proven experience in production/industrial engineering; managerial experience a plus
• Familiarity with CAD software
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office
• Possess a wide breadth of knowledge in Engineering & materials know-how
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to maintain positive vendor and client relationships
• Strong coordination skills, organized and an energetic people-person with an eye for details
• Self-driven, results-oriented, thorough and is able to work well under pressure
