We are looking for a dedicated and talented Technical Superintendent to join our highly skilled and motivated Fleet Technical Operations Team. Our Fleet Team is responsible for the technical management of all operated vessels, ensuring compliance with latest industry standards and demands.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to General Manager of Fleet Technical Operations, you will be responsible to ensure efficient and safe daily technical operations of a fleet of Pure Car Carrier vessels (PCC) and Container vessels.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage all technical matters and ensure that safety is regarded as a primary responsibility.
• Monitor inventory control of stores and spares, performance of vessels, compliance with all applicable health, safety, security and pollution prevention regulations, certification status of vessels and ensure that at all times vessels are maintained in seaworthy condition.
• Responsible for maintenance, repairs, planned maintenance and modifications to vessels’ hull and machineries.
• To prepare repair specifications and coordinate with various repair firms for effecting major repairs, if any, during, the voyage without incurring delay to vessel.
• Plan, coordinate and execute inspections, dry dockings, lay-up and sale of vessels (in coordination with principals after making cost comparisons with various shipyards and repairers in the most efficient manner.
• Frequent sailing for ships’ inspections is required. Able to work in local and overseas shipyards to supervise dry-docking and other services.
• Follow up closely on performance of all vessels, monitor major deficiencies/defects that exist in the vessels and ensure that timely corrective actions are taken in order that the vessels performance and safety is not jeopardized. Ensure that all Charter Party requirements are being fulfilled and identify reasons for deviation if any and take remedial measures.
• Initiate innovations, savings and improvements within the area of responsibility.
• Monitor the quality of all service providers / vendors.
• Maintain regular contact with Classification societies, shipyards, repair firms, industry groups, trade associations, equipment manufacturers and designers, Government bodies and other organizations that may be helpful to carry out the assigned duties and responsibilities.
• Handling of guarantee issues with regards to new buildings.
• Liaising with Charterers, Flag State and Port State Control and ensure that all vessels certification and surveys for class, flag and international requirements are in order and valid.
• Oversee that all items pertaining to health, safety, security and pollution prevention are regularly checked with the aim of achieving high standards of safe and pollution free voyages and general well-being of all onboard the vessels. Act as a link between vessels and office.
• Manage annual financial budgets and cost control for maintenance, repairs, stores, modifications, and dry-docking, whilst ensuring compliance with Industry, Class and International regulations. (Project operating cost expenses pertaining to technical items before the yearly budgets are prepared).
• Prepare and ensure accuracy of quarterly financial reporting of vessels expenses to principals.
• Prepare yearly budget for vessels assigned.
• To ensure that all technical reports as required by various principals are timely dispatched.
• To verify all incoming reports from the vessels and identify areas which require immediate attention and take corrective actions.
• To report system non-conformities and verify that correction and preventive actions are implemented and found effective.
• Possess good crisis management abilities to manage marine incidents and accidents.

Who we are looking for:

• Degree in Engineering or other relevant degrees.
• Possess Chief Engineer Certificate of Competency.
• Minimum 14 years of sailing experience and recent 1.5 years sailing experience in the capacity as 1st Assistant Engineer on foreign going vessels especially pure car carrier vessels.

Job Responsibilities:

• Leads the technical team to support construction team for all design matters
• Reviews all technical documentation and drawings of the Project works
• Works closely with the appointed Consultants and construction team on designs and project deliverables to enhance site efficiency and constructability
• Leads on the design approval from the Authority/Agency including URA,BCA,LTA,PUB etc for the Project works
• Manages design approval process in a timely manner to resolve all technical issues
• Ensures strict compliance of the design in accordance with the contractual requirements
• Ensures the distribution of all the approved and latest drawings and other relevant documents to the relevant parties
• Leads the technical team to work closely with in-house BIM team and resolves all clarifications on technical requirements pertaining to the Project works
• Identifies and highlights to Management and project team of any potential risks or issues that will impact Project performance
• Prepares and presents design progress status and slides to Management, project team and Client as and when required.
• Strong coordination and collaboration with other disciplines (i.e Architectural, MEP, BIM etc.) on design to ensure delivery of high quality outcome
• Supports tender team and prepares technical tender documents as per specifications for bidding of civil and structural engineering projects as and when assigned
• Attends Progress Meeting, Technical Meetings, Coordination Meetings, Site Meetings, etc.

Job Requirements:

• Candidate must possesses Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering recognized by the Profressional Engineering Board
• At least 8-12 years of design experience or design management experiece.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Serve as the technical expert for detailed design and construction aspects of the project

· Answer questions and resolve issues brought forth by the internal team members, client, consulting engineers and contractors

· Perform expediting actions in sourcing technical information, submission of data/method statement for installation, delivery and transport of materials/equipment, storage and issuance for site installation works

· Prepare detailed installation plans, methodology, processes and procedures for support of construction team

· Propose and oversee timelines for engineering proposals and submissions are met

· Check and confirm the accuracy of submissions from contractors, vendors and suppliers for the work to be performed, coordinate and ensure approvals are received from client in timely manner

· Set up procedure and processes in monitoring and tracking of engineering related documentation throughout project lifestyle

· Communicate and collaborate with other managers, suppliers, and contractors

· Prepare and deliver various installation/erection or construction related presentations, both internally and externally

Requirement

Job Description:

• manage day-to-day technical operations, including attending daily toolbox meetings, compliance with WSHA.

• respond to emergency fault calls during office hours/standby duties after office hours in rotating duty roster and ensure timely rectification of issues.

• liase with users and authority to prepare and submit detailed work proposals for job requests.

• prepare costing, condition assessment, and proposal for maintenance works.

• responsible for inventory record, drawings, documentations and defect liability period registers.

• compile and maintain service reports, licenses/certificates on site.

• prepare and submit certificate of completion for maintenance works and services monthly, and prepare monthly claims.

• supervise and follow up with sub-contractors to carry out corrective maintenance/adhoc works and to rectify defects reported by quality control/auality, assurance, auditor/users.

• check and certify works done by sub-contractors.

• perform any other technical tasks as and when required.
