We seek an experienced and dynamic individual to join our team as the Technical Specialist of Vessel Auxiliary Equipment, who will ensure the operational reliability, maintenance, and optimization of auxiliary systems onboard vessels. This role involves technical expertise, troubleshooting skills and coordination to maintain the performance of vessel auxiliary equipment. The specialist collaborates closely with engineering teams, vessel crews, and external parties to uphold safety, compliance, and efficiency standards.
Area of Responsibility as follows:
1. Liaise with planning departments and workshops, analyze trends of reported defects and breakdowns, and identify potential corrective actions.
2. Ensure compliance with international regulations, industry standards, and company policies related to safety, environmental protection, and quality management.
3. Monitor industry trends, technological developments, and regulatory changes to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation in ship maintenance practices.
4. Conduct root cause analysis, failure mode, and effects analysis as necessary. Prepare reports and proposals for improvements. Issue Company Technical Memos on completion.
5. Periodically review job information cards and suggest improvements where necessary.
6. Participate in SATs and HATs and analyze ship data and performance through ship monitoring systems and local indicators.
7. To provide on-the-job training and theoretical consultation/classes for RBN and internal staff.
8. Provide technical guidance to crew and ensure timely resolution of operational issues.
Miminum certification required:
1. Comprehensive knowledge of ship operations, maintenance practices, and regulatory requirements, with a strong understanding of international conventions such as SOLAS, MARPOL, and ISM Code.
2. Proficiency in diagnostics, repair, and maintenance of pumps, compressors, HVAC systems, and hydraulic systems.
3. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure and prioritize competing demands.
5. Proficiency in computer applications and software relevant to ship management, maintenance software, and Microsoft Office.
6. Flexibility to travel as needed for business meetings, inspections, and other job-related activities.
7. Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct in all aspects of work.
8. Fluent English language communication skills, oral and written.
Marine Engineers, STCW Certificate holders with sailing experience of approximately 7-10 years, Second or Chief Engineers are welcome to apply.
