Job Objectives

Group Technology and Operations (GTO) Wholesale banking IT division in Singapore is looking for an experienced contract-based programmer to join its Cash and Trade production support team. Main role of the position is to support the bank’s Financial Supply Chain Management (FSCM) solutions, Trade/Factoring application, Payment, Receivables and Pricing. Covering Payment Products such as SWIFT Telegraphic Transfer, Demand Draft, Cashier’s Order, local RTGS payment, GIRO and cheque issuance, plus applications for international trade and FX rates broadcasting system. Support is applicable to Singapore and regional countries in the eastern and western block.

Support will be responsible for level 2 application incidents, production application maintenance, installations, system upgrades, application patches as well as manage vendor engagements. Daily job scope involves working with various system administrators, job schedulers, development teams, users and computer operators to provide prompt and effective production support for the above products and applications, mainly in distributed system.

Key Responsibilities

• At least 7 years of software development and production system support experience in the financial industry is preferred.
• Technically sound in distributed system (Linux, Unix, Windows), Relational Database Management System (MySQL, MSSQL, Oracle) concepts, SQL queries for data retrieval and analysis.
• Experience writing scripts on automation (VBA, excel and/or other languages), database queries, generating capacity and performance reports, MS SharePoint administration
• Incident Management / Problem Management / Capacity and performance management

• Technical Specialist responsible for the business application portfolio availability and reliability to serve the business per agreed service level targets.
• Ensure system service uptime & day-to-day smooth running, support users’ enquiries and perform due diligence to ensure ease of maintenance, operation efficiency, system monitoring and availability.

• Work with level 1 support in application knowledge transfer in establishing standard first level recovery process/system health check monitoring/scheduled activities as well as common application user queries.
• Work with project/development/Level 3 team in permanent resolution/change request management – all types including enhancements, bug fixes, etc.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Complies with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and Company directives related to building operations and work safety.

Performs assigned day-to-day repairs, emergency and preventive maintenance. Completes maintenance and repairs, records as required.

Reviews assigned work orders. Estimates time and materials needed to complete repair. Orders necessary materials and supplies to complete all tasks. Utilizes CMMS to manage work orders and track completion.

Perform with installation and modification of building equipment systems.

Perform with troubleshooting and repairs of buildings and installed systems to include: plumbing systems, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, shop, and HVAC/R.

Inspects new installation for compliance with building codes and safety regulations.

Inspects building systems including fire alarms, HVAC/R, and plumbing to ensure operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieves environmental conditions prescribed by client.

Oversees and inspects the work performed by outside contractors. Contracted work includes UPS, Electrical (HT & LT), HVAC/R, Genset, plumbers, and cleaning.

Supports an energy management program to ensure measures are taken to operate all systems in the most efficient manner to keep operating costs at a minimum.

Maintains lighting systems throughout the facility, cleaning fixtures and replacing bulbs and lamps.

Maintains grounds of facility or property performing such tasks as raking, sweeping, leaf blowing or snow removal.

Performs furniture assembly and locksmith tasks as needed.

Performs welding, carpentry, furniture assembly and locksmith tasks as needed.

Responds quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed.

May serve as a mentor to other technicians.

Report and communicate on a daily basis all work activity via PDA device.

Certificates or Licences

Possess and maintain a valid Class 3 driver’s license and good driving record with periodic checks

Job Description

TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Plan, coordinate and ensure timely follow-up of class and flag requirements in order that the vessel attains sea worthiness and commercial readiness.

• Determine class / flag requirements and apply to class / flag administration for surveys, inspections, related issues and special requests.

• Pre-preparation of draft specification for modification / alternation to vessel for compliance of Class / Statutory requirements.

• Plan, arrange and coordinate class and flag surveys or exemptions and other related requirements.

• Update, maintain accuracy and practice good housekeeping of records, plans and drawings.

• Follow up with Superintendent (Tech) for PMS overdue jobs report

2. Support S&P on change of flag and ownership of our vessel in coordination with class / flag.

• Plan, arrange and coordinate activities and logistics requirements for a smooth flag change and ownership transfer (vessel’s take over / hand over, new building).

3. Support S&P on request for technical information pertaining to our fleet.

4. Identify, arrange and follow up on offland items from vessel for repair / service:

• Source, identify and obtain approval of contractor and pricing for repair / service work.

• Follow up with contractor and vessel till the successful completion of the repair / service work, reports update to Danaos (PMS, offland, Running Hrs Machinery) and payment closure.

5. Support Superintendents in dry-docking and related activities:

• Liaise with vessel and other sources to compile dry dock planning requirements / specifications and budget / costing.

• Compile and review dry-docking specification quote from yards / contractors, prepare and update file for Superintendents, Fleet Manger and Technical Director’s discussion and approval.

Monitor, identify and communicate progress and any deviation from dry dock plan.

• Follow up on documentations (i) upon confirmation of selected yard / contractors and (ii) at the end of dry-docking process including closure of invoices with Superintendents.

6. Monitor and ensure all trading certificates are valid, follow up on hot work and daily correspondence with vessel.

7. Administer, review and enforce the ISO procedures and requirements for technical processes.

PURCHASING RESPONSIBILITIES

8. Prepare and Issue Purchase order (PO)

• Ensure approval is obtained and proper closure of the purchasing activities for each technical purchase requirement.

9. Plan, coordinate and ensure that all requirements are delivered to vessel on time, at the right cost and specifications.

• Identify and source for vessels’ requirements (i.e. general store, spares, provision and bonded stores).

• Plan, coordinate (with Operations and Fleet Personnel Department) and monitor the delivery of stores / spares to vessels in a timely and cost-effective manner.
