We're looking for a Solutions Engineer to join Snap!

What you’ll do:

• Build new products and improve existing ones
• Collaborate with Snap product engineering teams and cross functional partners to meet business needs
• Understand and apply deep knowledge of products, technologies, and business to build solutions to solve for problems at scale
• Design and build end-to-end systems and launch-plan strategies
• Use broad range of technical and soft skills to build productive relationships with partners and independently resolve complex technical and business needs while contributing to partner documentation
• Apply expertise and product insight to deliver high-quality project/integration/partner engagements, while influencing product roadmap to meet the business needs
• Write and ship reliable, scalable, and efficient code
• Build and improve solutions in collaboration with engineering, product, and cross functional partners
• Identify and surface insights using metrics on product usage to increase adoption and provide new solutions that address the needs of partners
• Work with partners to develop a long-term strategic plan, grounded on business objectives, and manage partners during integrations with Snap’s platform products and ensure value creation

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Ability to work with open source technologies
• Ability to mentor and provide guidance to more junior team members
• Strong written and verbal communications skills
• Strong relationship development and collaboration skills

Minimum Qualifications:

• BS in a technical field such as computer science or equivalent years of experience
• 3+ years of experience as a software or solutions engineer shipping reliable, scalable, and efficient code
• Experience coding in Javascript, building applications and APIs/SDKs for internal and external developers.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Fluency in both English and Mandarin
• Experience in supporting the China advertising market
• In-depth knowledge of advertising systems and common ad tech stacks
• Advanced degree in computer science or computer engineering
• Experience working with cross functional stakeholders to define business requirements and product roadmaps
• Experience working with large SaaS, PaaS and cloud platforms and building applications for third-party marketplaces

The Data Engineer plays a crucial role in the creation and maintenance of our advanced data analytics vital to the hospital's data-driven decision-making processes. The role focuses on the acquisition, storage, retrieval, and optimization of data from various sources to support clinical, operational, and research initiatives. Role also supports the work of Group Chief Data Officer (GCDO) for Data Analytics.

Data Sourcing and Collection:
• Identifying and understanding source systems.

• Gathering requirements on frequency, volume, and types of data.
• Ensuring data privacy and compliance measures are in place.

Data Ingestion using Informatica IDMC and/or Spark using Python:
• Designing, implementing, and optimizing data ingestion pipelines. • Ensuring reliability and fault tolerance of ingestion pipelines.
• Handling data transformations, if necessary, during ingestion.
• Collaborate and manage vendors if required to for the data ingestion

Data Lake Management:
• Proper structuring of the data in the DataBricks Lakehouse to ensure it is usable and performant.

• Setting up data partitioning, indexing, and archival strategies.
• Monitoring data growth and storage consumption.

Data Quality and Validation:
• Implementing data quality checks and validation rules during ingestion. • Ensuring data consistency, accuracy, and integrity.
• Setting up alerts for any data anomalies or issues.

Integration with DataBricks Lakehouse:
• Making sure the ingested data is accessible, query-able, and optimized for performance in DataBricks.

• Collaborating with data scientists and analysts to ensure the data meets their requirements.

Performance Tuning and Optimization:

• Monitoring ingestion pipeline performance and making and coordinate necessary adjustments.
• Ensuring data loads meet SLAs and optimizing as needed

Security and Compliance:

• Setting up appropriate access controls and permissions. • Ensuring data encryption at rest and in transit.
• Regularly auditing and reviewing data access patterns.

Data Extraction Requests:
- Assist with data extraction requests

Documentation and Knowledge Transfer:
• Creating thorough documentation on data ingestion pipelines, schedules, transformations, etc.

• Conducting regular knowledge sharing sessions with other team members.
Collaboration:
• Working closely with other data engineers, data scientists, business analysts, and stakeholders.
• Communicating any changes, downtimes, or issues proactively.

• Plan, build and optimize infrastructure setup, design and performance.
• Manage backend information systems, including of virtual machines and virtualization platform, including of network storage, backup, Fibre channel switches.
• In-depth experience in Linux administration. Need to be expert level
• Strong understanding of High Availability setup for Linux/Windows applications (etc. webs, database)
• Strong network fundamentals – IPv4/IPv6 – addressing, NAT, Routing
• Network and Systems troubleshooting and maintenance
• Good to have disaster recovery planning and execution
• Private cloud administration experience is a must – VMWare / Hypervisor
• In-depth experience in DNS, DHCP, Proxies, Linux firewalls & network security is a must.
• Maintain and Administer Security Appliances of different projects
• Design and propose a plan that will improve the hosting service of the Data Center

Responsibilities:

• Understanding project specifications and developing time schedules and budgets that meet them.

• Observing existing processes, analyzing staff performance, and addressing deficiencies accordingly.
• Monitoring and tracking project progress, and writing up reports.

• Understanding and meeting all contract requirements.
• Communicating with managers, supervisors, and the rest of the team.
• Analyzing technical drawings and providing material and cost estimates.
• Ensuring all projects are completed on time and within budget.

Requirements:

• Degree in Engineering or similar.
• Primavera P6 and BIM software (Eg. Revit, Visualization and Animation software)
• Experience with 3D modeling software.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Planning and project management skills.
• Strong analytical, critical, and logical thinking skills.
• Ability to focus under pressure and meet deadlines.
