The SKILT Centre – the SpecialKids Intervention, Learning and Therapy Centre established in collaboration with SpecialKids Child Health & Development Clinic, provides a holistic series of programmes that target individuals aged 2 and upwards, through teenage years.

Role & Responsibilities

· Identify and assess individual therapy needs of clients using appropriate assessment tools and assessment forms.

· Facilitate development of appropriate and effective tools for identification, assessment, intervention.

Clinical Care

• Is responsible for compliance of all occupational therapy standards as stipulated by the Ministry of Health and Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC)
• Carry out assessment on residents as part of the admission assessment and conduct regular routine assessment on in-house residents who may require occupational therapy or rehabilitation service.
• Recommend appropriate OT programmes and activities for residents.

The Senior/ Occupational Therapist develops and provides the rehabitative care and services based on the care model, to residents of the Nursing Home(s). You will work with the residents of the nursing home to achieve optimal independence by improving and restoring their abilities in self-care, daily living, work and leisure. You will also provide functional, physical, cognitive and psychosocial assessments to understand their rehabilitation needs and set realistic goals with them. Job Purpose:

• To be responsible for the consultation, assessment and treatment of patients

Role & Responsibilities

· Identify and assess individual therapy needs of clients using appropriate assessment tools and assessment forms.

· Facilitate development of appropriate and effective tools for identification, assessment, intervention.

· Formulate and implement individual/group therapy programmes for clients with speech and language disorder, social communication difficulties, dyslexia, autism, ADHD, etc.

· Provide intervention for clients on a one-to-one basis, group, class, work experience or special setting based on the needs of the students.
