Key Responsibilities

• To perform skin, body and/or hair analysis to customers
• To provide valuable advices to customers in a professional manner

Metta Preschool Punggol (慈光幼儿园) has been serving the community since its official opening on 31 July 2010. Our Centre specializes in early intervention programs for children aged two to six years, diagnosed or suspected with mild to moderate autism spectrum disorders (ASD), global developmental delay, and/or intellectual disabilities. We receive cases through referrals from hospitals via SG Enable, and enrollment follows a thorough initial screening process.

Our mission is to maximize the developmental potential of these children through a comprehensive approach. Children attend 3-hour session programs twice a week, guided by a dedicated multi-disciplinary team comprising teachers, occupational therapists, and speech and language therapists. Together, we create and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEP) focusing on six key domains: fine motor, gross motor, adaptive, cognitive, social communication, and social skills.

As a Speech Language Therapist, you will play a key role in evaluating, planning, and implementing therapy programs tailored to each child’s unique needs, empowering them to communicate effectively and thrive.

Key Responsibilities

Therapy Delivery

• Conduct one-to-one or group therapy sessions tailored to students’ abilities.
• Assess, document, and monitor students’ Speech Language Therapy needs and progress regularly.
• Collaborate with caregivers and a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized therapy plans.
• Provide consultation and training for staff, caregivers, and volunteers to support therapy initiatives.
• Stay updated on the latest Speech Language Therapy practices to enhance service delivery.
• Engage in research and contribute to service improvement initiatives.
• Guide and mentor junior therapists and interns (for Senior Speech Language Therapist positions).

Administrative Duties

• Maintain accurate records, including assessments, therapy goals, progress notes, and discharge plans.
• Ensure compliance with NCSS/MSF requirements, such as SSR, PES, and QA.
• Prepare reports, manage therapy schedules, and maintain a database of students and therapy hours.
• Attend relevant meetings and contribute professional input.

Other Duties

• Support departmental and organizational goals through additional responsibilities assigned by the HOD or management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s/Diploma in Speech Language Therapy or equivalent.
• Registered with Singapore’s Allied Health Professions Council.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience in a preschool setting is an advantage).
• Passionate about working with children with special needs.
• Strong team player with the ability to work independently.
• Hardworking, meticulous, and responsible.
