Purpose of Job
The Product Management Engineer will be responsible for managing the entire product lifecycle from concept through to delivery, ensuring alignment with both customer needs and WEO Corporation's core strengths. The role requires strong collaboration with cross-functional teams, both locally and internationally, to optimise product development, sales strategies, and market competitiveness.
Job Duties
External: Customer & Market Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with global MNC customers, ensuring a deep understanding of their requirements and goals.
- Collaborate with the Sales Team to identify opportunities for increasing sales revenue and market share.
- Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to inform product development and marketing strategies.
- Participate in sales and marketing activities, including overseas exhibitions and promotional campaigns.
- Conduct market research and develop sales strategies to ensure the company's competitiveness both within Singapore and regionally.
- Align customer needs with the company’s core competencies to maintain market leadership.
Internal: Cross-Departmental Collaboration
- Work closely with the Supply Chain team to identify and manage key suppliers, both locally and globally.
- Act as a communication bridge between customers and internal teams, translating customer requirements into product specifications.
- Coordinate with the Sales Team, factories in China and Malaysia, and international R&D and Engineering teams to ensure product development meets customer expectations.
- Lead cross-functional teams on projects as assigned by management, ensuring smooth execution and timely delivery.
Experience:
· Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience as a Product or Project Engineer.
· Strong communication skills in both English and Chinese, capable of liaising effectively across all levels and functions within the company, as well as with overseas teams and intermediaries.
· Demonstrable ability to understand and analyse market needs, particularly in optics, electronics, or R&D technology integration.
· Independent, proactive, and capable of working autonomously. A demonstrated ability to lead projects and show initiative is essential.
· An interest in the technology, field, and market of optics manufacturing.
Qualifications:
- A background in Engineering is essential, with a preference for candidates with experience in Optics or a related field.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) is required.
- Candidates with a Master's degree or PhD are encouraged to apply.
Other Requirements:
· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas, etc.), for data analysis and reporting.
· Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems is highly preferred.
· Familiarity with CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software, particularly for product design and development (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
· Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to optics, electronics, or precision engineering.
· Understanding of supply chain management and procurement processes for both local and global suppliers.
· Ability to work with project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Trello, Jira) to track progress and manage cross-functional teams.
· Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, particularly in optics or electronics, and integration with product development.
