The College of Integrative Studies (CIS) at Singapore Management University (SMU is seeking to make one or two tenure-track appointments (at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor levels) in the area of Urban Informatics, broadly construed. We welcome applicants who are domain experts in urban food systems, corporate supply chain analysis, urban energy use and/or decarbonisation.

Senior candidates with a track record of leading international teams in externally-funded research programmes are especially encouraged to apply. Exceptional candidates at the Associate or Full Professor levels will be considered for tenure upon appointment. The CIS delivers the University's Core Curriculum and also offers a suite of programmes including Singapore's first and only individualisable major at the undergraduate level, a Masters in Sustainability, as well as interdisciplinary Master’s and Ph.D. programmes in Asian Urbanisms.

We are interested in candidates who are trained in Data Science/Analytics, Computer Science, Geographical Information Systems, Geomatics (all with an urban application), or in cognate disciplinary or interdisciplinary fields with an urban focus. Candidates who can demonstrate evidence of interdisciplinarity in both teaching and research are particularly encouraged to apply.

Applicants should be able to:

• Design and deliver postgraduate a course on “Computational Urban Analysis” to a diverse, multidisciplinary postgraduate audience
• As necessary, design elective courses that will be delivered as part of the Asian Urbanisms Master’s and PhD programmes
• Attract and supervise postgraduate research students
• Contribute to undergraduate teaching for the SMU Core Curriculum in the Technology and Society course baskets (see https://cis.smu.edu.sg/core-curriculum/overview) by delivering courses that will equip students from diverse backgrounds with a data science software foundation that ranges from introductory skills to more advanced techniques, such as cluster analysis, spatial regression, or machine learning
• Conceptualise and execute high quality research, and develop grant applications, on urban-related issues in Asia, broadly defined
• Participate actively in the research and educational communities at SMU, and contribute to at least one of the university’s three areas of strategic priority: Growth in Asia, Digital Transformation, and Sustainable Living

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in either a computational disciplinary (e.g., Data Science/Analytics, Computer Science, Geographical Information Systems, Geomatics, all with an urban focus) or interdisciplinary (e.g., Urban Science, Urban Studies, Development Studies) field
• A record, or promise, of high-quality research and publication
• A record of excellence in teaching and supervision, ideally at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels
• A track record of being awarded external research grants is a benefit, but not a prerequisite
• Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills

College of Integrative Studies term-track position of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer of Economics (Education).

The College of Integrative Studies (CIS) at Singapore Management University (SMU) invites applications for the full-time term-track position of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer of Economics (Education).

The successful candidate will:
(i) Deliver a total of 8 classes of Undergraduate courses per year assigned by the College in consultation with the individual faculty member, especially the team-taught mandatory Freshman Economics and Society module;
(ii) Develop teaching and learning materials for the course curricula, including online material, videos, test banks, grading rubrics, adaptive learning tools, handouts, cases, and textbook, where appropriate (for the team-taught Economics and Society an existing syllabus exists);
(iii) Provide guidance to students regarding the relevant course material, as well as general programme planning, course selection and related academic matters;
(iv) Provide service to the School, including participation in events, outreach activities, and student mentoring.
Applicants should have a PhD degree in Economics, experience in active and blended learning pedagogy, and a track record of excellent teaching. Experience in teaching entry-level economics courses and an interest in multidisciplinary work (teaching and/or research) encompassing societal elements is desirable.

Position Overview:

The AV Lead will play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless audio-visual (AV) operations and production for MAS's critical internal and external engagements. This role demands a blend of technical expertise, project management skills, and creativity to support MAS's high standards of professionalism and innovation. The AV Lead will manage AV systems, coordinate events, and oversee multimedia production, contributing to MAS's mission of promoting a sound and progressive financial center.

Key Responsibilities:

Event Support and Coordination

• Plan, coordinate, and manage AV requirements for major meetings, webinars, events, recordings, and video productions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand technical needs and deliver tailored AV solutions.
• Operate and manage control room and studio equipment for live events or recordings.

Multimedia Content Creation

• Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the creation and post-production of multimedia content.
• Ensure the delivery of high-quality videos, graphics, and other digital media assets aligned with MAS's standards.

System Maintenance and Inventory Management

• Conduct regular preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure all AV systems remain in optimal condition.
• Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of AV equipment for audits and operational readiness.

Contractor and Vendor Management

• Oversee AV contractors to ensure service delivery aligns with contracts and service level agreements.
• Manage contract administration, assess vendor performance, and verify services rendered before payment.

Technology and Innovation

• Stay updated on emerging AV, broadcasting, and video conferencing technologies to recommend and implement advancements.
• Lead large-scale AV implementation projects, ensuring successful delivery within scope and timelines.

Qualifications and Skills:

Minimum Diploma in Media, Mass Communications, AV, or equivalent.

At least five (5) years of relevant experience in broadcasting, live production, or AV/VC operations with supervisory responsibilities.

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere Pro) and strong video and photographic skills.

In-depth knowledge of AV hardware (e.g., cameras, video switchers, lighting, sound systems) and software (e.g., TriCaster, OBS, vMix).

Experience in studio production and familiarity with production sets and teams.

Proven project management experience in large-scale AV implementations.

Expertise in AV and VC systems (Crestron, Extron, Cisco, Bosch).

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-oriented mindset.

Independent, proactive, and adaptable to fast-paced and dynamic environments.
