Job Summary
This role is in the Environmental Social and Governance and Reputational (ESGR) team and can be based in Singapore and India
Key Responsibilities
- Execute the Group ESG (including Climate) and Reputational Risk (ESGR) integration with Wealth and Retail Business Banking. This will include building and enhancing the infrastructure and processes to facilitate review and challenge of ESGR risks, including embedding into Credit Risk Management where feasible.
- Support simplification agenda for example streamlining to one ESG and Reputational risk assessment for WRB.
- Support transition to new Physical Risk Vendor across WRB for risk assessment, grading and reporting related to Physical Risk assessments.
- Review and challenge of NZ financed emissions arising from WRB Residential Mortgages
- Review and challenge of Sustainable Finance and Sustainability-related activities in WRB
- Support the review, challenge and provide input on internal and external disclosures such as Climate Risk-related financial disclosures, including those set out by the Taskforce on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD).
- Contribute to Group-wide RCSA reviews with respect to ESGR risk where applicable
- Provide inputs to the Group’s strategic risk appetite metric calculation all metrics pertaining WRB portfolios.
- Support and implement initiatives as determined by Head, ESGR and NZ, WRB.

Skills and Experience
Our Ideal Candidate
- Market Knowledge: 8+ years of strong experience in Climate Risk, ESG, Reputational Risk and/or Credit Risk Management as well as global climate policies and industry trends within the space.
- Good communication skills with ability to explain complex matters in a simple and intuitive manner
- Collaborative: working as part of a broader team to ensure a coordinated and consistent approach
- Structured and organised, ability to work with minimal direction with tight deadlines, attention to details
- Demonstrate understanding of and commitment to the Group's core values.
- Ownership mindset, able to think creatively and be open to new ideas
- Good knowledge of banking risk management and standards
- Proven ability to partner and collaborate across an organisation, support facilitation, with the ability to build a strong internal network across all levels of the organisation
- Self-starter, ability to quickly assimilate and analyse large amounts of information across a variety of topics
- Strong experience in MS Excel and Power Point
- Understanding of Wealth and Retail Banking portfolios and products
Role Specific Technical Competencies
- Familiarity with climate risk management (tools and methodologies)
- Data preparation and review skills
- Ownership and accountability for deliverables / action oriented
- Climate risk stress testing and wider Enterprise wide stress testing processes
- Ability to engage and collaborate with stakeholders at various levels across functions and geographies
- Proven track record in both review/ challenge and whilst working in partnership with the first line of defence
