3. Documentation and Compliance: Ensure that all necessary documentation for freight shipments is complete and accurate, including customs documentation for international shipments. This may involve coordinating with other departments or external partners to gather required information.
4. Rate Negotiation: Support the sales team in negotiating rates with carriers and other service providers to secure the best pricing for customers while maintaining profitability for the company.
5. Order Processing: Assist in processing freight orders, including entering orders into the system, coordinating with carriers for pickup and delivery, and tracking shipments to ensure they reach their destination on time.
6. Customer Relationship Management (CRM): Maintain customer records and interactions in a CRM system, ensuring that all relevant information is accurately recorded and up-to-date.
7. Market Research: Assist in conducting market research to identify potential customers and market trends, providing valuable insights to the sales team.
8. Problem Resolution: Help resolve any issues that arise during the shipping process, such as delays, damages, or documentation errors, by liaising with carriers, customers, and other stakeholders.
9. Product Knowledge: Develop a deep understanding of the freight forwarding services offered by the company, including knowledge of different modes of transportation, shipping regulations, and industry best practices.
10. Sales Support Materials: Create or update sales support materials such as presentations, case studies, and marketing collateral to assist the sales team in their efforts to acquire new customers and retain existing ones.

• Formulate strategic vision, mission and strategy of the business unit, in alignment with GSL strategy and DSC Global/DSC APAC strategy

Value Identification & Scaling

• Develop Data Analytics as a product offering to Service Logistic (SL) customer as part of renewal or RFQ or ongoing basis so as to provide DHL with a differentiating factor / competitive advantage
• Identifying and Scaling of the established use cases to all relevant SL accounts (Scaling across network)

Continuous Improvement & Commercialization

• Drive internal Continuous improvement initiatives by leveraging data from multiple sources (e.g. WMS, TMS, Kronos)

NETWORK PERFORMANCE & IMPROVEMENT

• Develop globally aligned strategy for MRP (Management Review Process) in APAC
• Deploy best-in-class Performance visibility dashboard via means of single data source and Power BI tool
• Establish framework for process productivity assessment and proactively manage improvement plans
• Drive continuous improvement activities for both Service Performance and Shipment Visibility based on QMS principles of Root Cause Identification & Resolution
• Present and implement operational improvement projects to increase First Time Right performance across the APAC network
• Develop operations Heat Map review to drive operations improvement and service excellence
• Establish best practice sharing strategy cross country, accounts and global to drive improve customer experience

CHANGE MANAGEMENT

• Lead by example with a Can Do Mindset to drive change management through the Service Logistic (SL) network
• Support Countries and sites with change management knowledge and activities
• Drive change management through the APAC network, implementing a new way or performance reporting using the SL BI tool & Digital customer Experience tool (MySC)
• Own the SL BI tool/platform roll out towards our country operations in APAC
• Drive the SL BI tool/platform roadmap, engaging with the global super user community and proving feedback to all new customer agreements to ensure we sell our standard services

COMMUNICATIONS

• Create awareness of the SL standard and product across the network though Snack & Learn, Webinar

Responsibilities:

Warehouse Solution Design (Customer Facing)

• Support the development of new customers, either with existing client contact or by supporting the sales team for RFQ, site visit and presentation
• Analyse customer requirements and support Q&A sessions
• Design and propose warehousing solutions according to customer needs
• Evaluate resources, MHE, investments, EDI, automation and innovation opportunities, etc.
• Provide cost analysis and rates using cost model
• Build RFQ technical proposal and present the solution to customer

Job description

This role is essential in ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of goods through our supply chain.
The ideal candidate will have experience in freight management, sales and warehouse support, sourcing, supplier coordination, training, and handling of ad-hoc tasks.

Freight
1. To seek freight forwarder quotation for sea and air shipment.
2. To arrange and liaise with freight forwarder and vendors for timely pick-up of shipments.
3. To determine the volume of shipment to optimize the cost of shipping with freight forwarders.
4. Follow up with supplier and third-party supplier shipment, expedite schedule, and delay shipment.
5. Track shipment journey and communicate to respective departments on Estimated Date of Arrival of shipments.
6. Update and disseminate Notice of Arrival (NOA) of shipment with the respective retail business units.
7. Maintain an accurate and up-to-date shipments tracker.
8. Preempt and arrange custom tax payments with the finance department.
9. Work with insurers on product assessment and claims.
10. Generate weekly and monthly freight shipment reports.

Sales and Warehouse Support
1. Notify sales and warehouse team of shipment arrival date.
2. Attend to enquiries from sales team on regards to lead time and product queries.
3. Liaise with sales team on export sales and prepare the necessary paperwork.
4. Collaborate with the warehouse team on the shipment arrival and arrange trucking out of container.
5. Notify and preempt the sales and warehouse team if there are any shipment delays.

Sourcing
1. Conduct competitive price checks and ensure the respective retail business units are getting a competitively priced shipment rate.
2. Align supply chain Key Performance Indicators (KPI) with freight percentage and purchase budgets that for the year.
Supplier
1. Arrange shipment pick-up with suppliers (local and overseas).
2. Manage Letter of Credit (LC) payment terms with suppliers and the finance department to ensure timely shipments
3. Issue purchase order relating to the freight invoices.
4. Prepare purchase orders and update the latest schedule in order schedule.
5. Prepare weekly and monthly payments (non-trade) weekly for approval.

Training
1. Develop training materials and work processes for the Supply Chain Management and Warehouse team.
2. Initiate and lead new projects to enhance business units.
Ad-hoc
1. Participate in stock-take and other related warehouse disposal exercise.
2. Manage System operations.
3. Any other work assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Requirements
1. Candidate must possess at least a diploma/degree in any field.
2. At least 1 Year of working experience in the related field will be an advantage.
3. Good knowledge on incoterms, taxation, import/export documents, trade compliance and inventory
