Vessel Technical Management

• Oversee the technical performance, maintenance, and repair of assigned IMO 2 vessels, ensuring smooth operations.
• Ensure vessels comply with all international regulations (IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL), Flag State, and Class requirements.
• Work closely with vessel Masters and Chief Engineers to troubleshoot technical issues and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate technical reports and performance records for each vessel.
• Monitor and optimize Planned Maintenance System (PMS), ensuring regular servicing and updates.
• Conduct regular ship inspections and audits, providing recommendations for improvements.

Shipyard & Dry-Docking Operations

• Plan, coordinate, and execute dry-docking, major repairs, and shipyard projects, ensuring timely completion within budget.
• Prepare dry-dock specifications and work scopes, obtaining competitive quotations from shipyards.
• Supervise shipyard activities to ensure work is completed to the required quality and safety standards.
• Conduct post-docking evaluations and ensure vessels are returned to service efficiently.
• Provide technical expertise for hull structure, cargo systems, piping, and machinery repairs in IMO 2 vessels.

Regulatory & Compliance

• Ensure vessels meet ISM, ISPS, MLC, and other industry standards.
• Support and facilitate Class, Flag, and PSC inspections, ensuring compliance.
• Keep updated on new regulations and implement necessary technical modifications onboard.

Crew & Team Coordination

• Provide technical guidance and training to onboard engineers and technical staff.
• Liaise with internal teams (operations, crewing, and procurement) to ensure seamless vessel performance.
• Act as the primary technical contact for assigned vessels.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in technical management, with expertise in IMO 2 vessels and shipyard operations.
• Strong knowledge of chemical/product tanker systems, cargo operations, and tank coating requirements.
• Proven experience in dry-docking, shipyard repair supervision, and major maintenance projects.

Job Description

• Work hand in hand with sales team to plan delivery schedule for new product releases and restock requests in accordance to internal shipping guidelines

Key Responsibilities:

5. Compliance & Risk Management:
   • Ensure compliance with local and international financial regulations, company policies, and logistics contracts.

6. Reporting & KPIs:

As an Quality Engineer you are tasked to ensuring the design transfer and manufacturing operation activities of medical devices produced meet the requirements of Alcon standards, 21 CFR Part 820, Part 11, ISO 13485, the Medical Device Regulation (MDR) and other applicable regulations and standards at Tuas.

In this role, a typical day will include:

• Provide operational support for product release to ensure it meets all quality and regulatory requirements when necessary
• Review and approve validation protocols and reports; ensure compliance with established procedures andsound validation methodology.
• Provide e-compliance oversight to site CSV activities.
• Provide quality oversight to activities related to calibration, preventive maintenance, spare part assessment and associated deviations.
• Support internal and external audits and is responsible for audit finding closure, as required. Work with cross-functional teams to resolve operational quality issues
• Trend, analyze and monitor key performance indicators, suggest improvements and escalate to supervisor/management as necessary Identify improvement opportunities and lead/support the implementation activities to improve performance and efficiency.
• Meet quality objectives set by management & comply to Alcon, QMS and Safety requirements.
• Performs any other duties as assigned by Supervisor according to business needs.

What You'll Bring to Alcon

• Bachelor/ Degree in Science, Life Science, Engineering or other appropriate education and

Essential Duties/ Responsibilities:

• Oversee all activities and communications regarding outgoing and incoming shipments for all projects to ensure accuracy, timely preparation of necessary documentation
• Ensure supervision of the team’s daily operations management
• Obtain shipping schedules from the logistics agent to allow manager to determine which mode and timeline is appropriate.
• Co-ordinate with shipping agents and book in-bound and/or out-bound shipments via various modes in a timely manner (sea/ air/land) upon manager’s approval.
• Prepare and submit final packing lists to the shipping agent for customs procedures.
• Maintain high accuracy in all document preparations for logistics.
• Ensure best service and best pricing in logistic activities.
• Ensure equipment is received as scheduled by continual follow-up and communication with freight forwarders and resolve any issues as and when required.
• Maintain strong communication channels with other departments
• Maintain strong communication channels with intercompany personnel (mainly Logistics, Operations) – NEP UK, India and UAE
• Develop strong working relationships and cooperation with other functions and departments.
• Support purchasing strategies (sourcing, negotiation & cost management, quality and delivery terms, documentation) and manage procurement and rental of any external resources, services, and facilities required to support the projects or operations
• Support and/or execute adhoc tasks and/or cover the job scope of team members in their absence
• Ensure checks and balances in terms of permit closure, invoice billing versus confirmed quotation, record upkeeping, etc.
• Nurture positive relationships with suppliers and service providers for optimum pricing and support.
• Able to support project load-on and load-off outside working hours, i.e. after 1800 hours SGT and/or weekends and/or local national holidays whenever the need arises

Position Requirements:

• At least 4 years of working experience in logistics operations.
• A qualification in Logistics or Supply Chain Management will be preferred.
• Preferably working in a similar industry or fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of Carnet application will be an advantage.
• Ability to lead by example and multi-task with tight timelines.

Responsibilities

Finance Activities

• Responsible for the accuracy, timeliness, effectiveness and efficiency of monthly journals, daily data entries and processes in the areas of Account Receivables, Account Payables, banking, month-end closing and quarterly GST reporting
• Processing of cheque and online payments
• System update of local Accounts Payable payment vouchers
• Posting and review of vendor invoices
• Reconciliation of vendor monthly Statement of Accounts & preparation of monthly payment cycles
• Monthly and weekly Accounts Receivable follow up to customers & coordination with cross functional departments
• Monthly reconciliation of Balance Sheet items
• Assist in monthly and year end audits, including audits for certifications such as ISO and TISAX

Admin Activities

• Office Management: Oversee daily office operations, ensuring a smooth and efficient working environment for all staff
• Inventory Management: Manage and maintain inventories of office supplies such as stationery, printer consumables (including maintenance), and other office materials
• Purchasing & Procurement: Coordinate the purchasing of office equipment, including printers, furniture (chairs, tables, pedestals), and other office items or devices as needed
• Asset Inventory Management: Track, issue, and maintain company devices such as laptops, desktops, phones, and other electronic equipment, ensuring proper management and maintenance (including asset tagging)
• Health & Safety: Support the maintenance of a safe and compliant office environment, ensuring adherence to health and safety standards

As an Engineer under Engineering- Manufacturing System and Automation, you will be tasked to provide operational technical support to drive productivity and product quality with GxP compliance and regulatory requirements.
