The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for processing shipments, tracking and tracing, and communicating with customers and other departments. The ideal candidate will have experience in logistics and customer service, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Process shipping requests
• Track and trace shipments
• Communicate with customers in person and/or through calls, emails, and ticketing systems
• Prioritize workload according to customer requirements
• Generate and provide accurate and internationally-compliant documents to the requestor in a timely manner
• Follow up on issues and respond to customers within the appropriate time frame
• Support the safe and timely delivery of freight as it moves through the supply chain
• Report and escalate delays and incidents through established communications protocols
• Keep managers informed on all challenges and complaints, including escalation as required

• Work towards individual and department Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Assist with investigation and data collection for post mortem due to gap in process or incident

Duties and Responsibilities

Managing a team of staff and drivers, the role will be responsible for managing the execution, direction, and coordination of all transportation matters within the organization, which includes managing budgets, organising schedules & routes, ensuring that vehicles are safe and meet legal requirements, and making sure that drivers are aware of their duties.

• Achieve and maintain consistent key performance indicators and manage daily operations.
• Plan and schedule daily routes to ensure that the optimum amount of vehicles is working at all times to meet customer needs.
• Allocate and record resources and movements on the transport planning system. Keep organized records of vehicles, schedules and completed orders
• Ensure operational efficiency, identifying potential cost savings opportunities and carrying out periodic reviews to identify gaps and improve on existing operations
• Track, monitor, report and control transportation costs
• Maintain vehicles in peak operating conditions in order to keep deliveries and distributions on schedule and within their established budget, and minimize costs by maximizing fuel efficiency and minimizing unexpected repairs.
• Ensure sub-contractors deliver within agreed terms.
• Effective liaison, support and assistance with internal and external customers.
• Promote safe work activities by conducting safety audits, attending company safety meetings, and meeting with individual staff members.
