Essential Duties/ Responsibilities:
- Oversee all activities and communications regarding outgoing and incoming shipments for all projects to ensure accuracy, timely preparation of necessary documentation
- Ensure supervision of the team’s daily operations management
- Obtain shipping schedules from the logistics agent to allow manager to determine which mode and timeline is appropriate.
- Co-ordinate with shipping agents and book in-bound and/or out-bound shipments via various modes in a timely manner (sea/ air/land) upon manager’s approval.
- Prepare and submit final packing lists to the shipping agent for customs procedures.
- Maintain high accuracy in all document preparations for logistics.
- Ensure best service and best pricing in logistic activities.
- Ensure equipment is received as scheduled by continual follow-up and communication with freight forwarders and resolve any issues as and when required.
- Maintain strong communication channels with other departments
- Maintain strong communication channels with intercompany personnel (mainly Logistics, Operations) – NEP UK, India and UAE
- Develop strong working relationships and cooperation with other functions and departments.
- Support purchasing strategies (sourcing, negotiation & cost management, quality and delivery terms, documentation) and manage procurement and rental of any external resources, services, and facilities required to support the projects or operations
- Support and/or execute adhoc tasks and/or cover the job scope of team members in their absence
- Ensure checks and balances in terms of permit closure, invoice billing versus confirmed quotation, record upkeeping, etc.
- Nurture positive relationships with suppliers and service providers for optimum pricing and support.
- Able to support project load-on and load-off outside working hours, i.e. after 1800 hours SGT and/or weekends and/or local national holidays whenever the need arises
Position Requirements:
- At least 4 years of working experience in logistics operations.
- A qualification in Logistics or Supply Chain Management will be preferred.
- Preferably working in a similar industry or fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of Carnet application will be an advantage.
- Ability to lead by example and multi-task with tight timelines.
- Strong team player and self-starter who sees tasks to completion.
- Strong interpersonal skills and resourceful in solving problem.
- Positive, hands-on, proactive, and highly organized.
- An effective communicator (verbal and email).
