Overview:
We are seeking a results-driven Autonomous Vehicle Technical Lead to work with AV providers in testing, calibrating, and deploying their technologies to operate in Changi’s airside environment. A critical focus of this role will be enabling the transition from SAE Level 3 to Level 4 autonomy, ensuring systems are capable of full automation in a dynamic and safety-critical airport environment. You will lead a team of deployment engineers, develop the necessary supporting infrastructure, and ensure that AV systems are designed for safety, scalability, and operational excellence.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Implementation and Deployment:

• Assist with the procurement of AV systems, including, but not limited to, translating operational requirements into key design requirements and technical specifications, performing technical evaluation of proposed solutions, developing testing and evaluation plans and KPIs for continuous monitoring of AV performance.
• Lead on-site calibration and integration of AV systems, addressing site-specific challenges such as traffic patterns, environmental conditions, and airside workflows.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders to oversee the phased rollout of AV solutions, transitioning from trials to full scale operational deployment.
• Oversee joint-testing programs with AV providers to validate AV performance in real- world conditions, including navigation, safety, and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communication.
• Recommend and support the implementation of AV support systems, such as integration with a global fleet monitoring system, vehicle-to-anything (V2X) feature development, and installation of charging facilities and/or other infrastructure modifications.
• Ensure the implementation of an integrated logistics support plan, covering documentation, maintenance and training of safety driver/remote operators.

AV fleet monitoring:

• Design and implement a continuous monitoring programme to track the safety, security and operational performance of the AV fleets.
• Assist with the investigation and root-cause analysis of AV-related incidents.
• Identify gaps and recommend product improvements to improve AV performance.
• Assist in the design and implementation of a Ǫuality Assurance (ǪA) programme to ensure reliability and sustenance of AV operations, including maintenance regimes, modifications, part replacements and software upgrades.
• Approve key design changes and update risk assessments/acceptances.

Transition to SAE Level 4 Autonomy:

• Drive efforts to advance AV systems from SAE Level 3 (conditional automation) to SAE Level 4 (high automation), enabling vehicles to operate independently in most conditions while meeting safety and operational standards.

Compliance and adoption of best practices:

• Work with internal stakeholders and AV providers to develop safety cases that meet local and/or international regulatory standards for autonomous vehicle operations.
• Ensure all deployments comply with aviation and transportation safety and security regulations, addressing risk assessments, validation processes, and documentation.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies to secure certifications and approvals for AV systems.
• Ensure all AV implementations follow industry best practices for safety, reliability, and operational efficiency.
• Benchmark solutions against global standards for autonomous systems, incorporating the latest advancements and lessons from other deployments.
• Promote continuous improvement by identifying and applying proven methodologies in AV testing, deployment, and management.

Team Leadership:

• Manage and mentor a team of deployment engineers, ensuring high-quality execution of technical tasks.
• Provide hands-on guidance to address technical challenges and maintain project timelines.
• Foster a collaborative environment that prioritises safety, innovation, and operational excellence.

Stakeholder Engagement:

• Serve as the primary interface between Changi Airport Group, AV providers, and regulators.
• Communicate progress, challenges, and results to internal and external stakeholders.
• Align AV activities with the broader automation roadmap, ensuring they contribute to Changi’s long-term operational goals.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in autonomous vehicle systems, robotics, or related fields, with a focus on external collaboration and deployment.
• Proven experience in testing, customising, and deploying AV systems in operational environments.
• Strong knowledge of SAE autonomy levels, with hands-on experience in transitioning systems to higher levels of autonomy (preferably SAE Level 4).
• Familiarity with safety-critical environments such as aviation or transportation is highly desirable.

• Receive Customers’ Shipment Orders from the Customer Service Unit for the processing of Shipments to various Destinations.

• Receive Customers’ Shipment Orders from the Customer Service Unit for the processing of Shipments for Delivery to the various Customers’ premises.
• Check on the Status (ie, arrived complete, arrived partially, arrived damaged, arrived but still not cleared, arrived but unlocated in the Cargo Terminal, etc) and update the Customer Service Unit accordingly

As part of the Freight Commercial Handysize team, you will play a crucial role being a part of global freight team, segmented by vessel size with region specific responsibilities. The Freight Trader role demands a keen ability to navigate and interpret complex market dynamics. The primary challenge lies in being “on call” 24/7 in order to complete time-sensitive projects, attend trainings or to respond to emergencies. This requires someone who is able to work in a fast-paced trading-floor environment. Main Responsibilities:

As part of the Singapore Freight Commercial Handysize team, you will be the Freight Trader for the Far East region, with responsibilities across pricing, positioning, business development and contract execution. This role involves interaction with both internal and external cargo customers, whilst also commercially manages the period fleet, optimizing the regional program. With a focus on expanding our reach and access with industrial cargo clients, you will play a key role in these areas:

• Accurately price, sell and manage freight risks for internal clients
• Develop 3rd party relationships on cargo and owning side, to complement and expand base internal cargo flow
• Optimize regional position through arbitrage of derivative hedges and physical positions; cargoes (internal/external), contracts and period vessels

1) Pricing of Freight and Rate Negotiation:

• Participate in external markets, spot and forward, to identify ‘replacement’ market prices
• Utilize in-house research and data analytics to identify market ‘mispricing’ and relative value trading opportunities
• Use the price forecast as the basis for generating firm freight rates to provide to internal commodity traders for completion of CNF sales and market research as well as for the basis of external trading on cargoes, contracts and period vessels
• Identify and trade arbitrage and hedging opportunities in the freight derivatives and futures market, and assess the opportunity of applying a period ship or new period ship fixture against a freight sale

2) Position Management:

• Orchestrate and execute the optimization and profitable arbitrage of the regional book, interacting with other regional traders to find the net best employment for period vessels
• Work in tandem with the regional offices including Vancouver and Geneva to optimize trading strategy of LDC physical cargo/tonnage book
• Liaise with the internal commodity teams to anticipate demand while ensuring smooth internal shipment program

3) Business Development:

• Expand third party network with a particular focus on accessing industrial cargo clients and bypassing operator/trader intermediaries
• Seek for both spot, medium and long-term opportunities, including COAs and joint ventures

4) Freight Contract Execution:

• Work closely with Freight Operations to stay on top of the itineraries, stowplans, and voyage execution PnLs. Ensure all documentary and administrative requirements are complete in a timely manner
• Evaluate and monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and/or to determine the need for changes; consult the Senior Trader on unusual price strategy, policy and operational issues if necessary/applicable
• Adhere to the Corporate and/or Platform Risk, Credit, Compliance, and Ethics guidelines

5) Other Scope:

• Research and evaluate trading partners based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production, distribution capabilities, reputation and history
• Undertake and complete training on:
• Time charter and Voyage charter parties, FFA contract negotiation and execution; Vessel bunkering hedging and execution; Internal freight accounting practices; Internal freight IT systems
• Internal Client Management:
• Organize and attend regular meetings with internal commodity traders to discuss market outlook, upcoming programs, target business and any execution/trading issues that require attention. Ensure relevant commodity market themes and perspectives are effectively communicated for a broader Freight awareness

Experiences:

• At least 2-5 years of relevant working experiences in shipping industry
• Experience in drybulk shipping and Handysize are preferred; open to Supramax
• Genuine interest in global shipping and commodity markets
• Ability to work with teams in different geographical locations
• Ability to work within a complex and international environment
• Extensive experience performing advanced freight calculations
• Extensive experience/familiarity negotiating time charter and voyage charter party terms
• Extensive experience arbitraging freight positions on spot and forward markets
• Experience and/or interest in analyzing balance sheets and working with researchers/data analysts
• Experience working with other commercial teams to design trading strategies is a plus
• Ability to manage data and summarizing large quantity of data into key/actionable insights
• Ability to analyze trends, data, and numbers to draw meaningful conclusions and write comprehensive reports
• Know how to communicate/explain complex ideas in a simple way
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with an attentive approach to analysis to ensure accurate assumptions and conclusions
• Ability to understand the business needs & potential issues and propose innovative ideas/solutions
• Good time management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Interpersonal skills, ability to forge relationships with colleagues and external parties
• Self-motivated, assertive & problem-solver individual
• High emotional intelligence

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in Excel
• Experience with BI tools for analytics
• Python programming skills and command on SQL and Data visualization tools are a plus
• Strong statistical and analytical skills, with a solid understanding of data management best practices
• Good Business Intelligence awareness

Academics:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Engineering, Finance, Trade, Maritime Studies or related field of study
