We’re looking for a strategic communicator.
You are interested in stories and can see how they can promote the brand. You will be involved in shaping NYP’s media relations and corporate communication practice and policies.
You should be comfortable to engage in conversations with various parties to draw insights and build pitches for the media and create stories for both print and digital platforms.
Your corporate communication role will also see you involved in writing content for specific target audience groups, managing crisis comms, and policy-related comms.
You will have opportunities to develop and hone your skills in digital/social media, content creation, marketing communication, and research and stakeholder engagement.
[What you will be working on]
Create content with key internal stakeholders and media platforms to position NYP as the innovative polytechnic.
Handle media-related matters including media pitching, drafting media releases, planning of media events, and managing media queries and crisis comms.
Strong networking skills with internal stakeholders so that you are able to identify and spot media opportunities.
Write and edit content for various stakeholders such as speeches, branding projects, liaison with other communication partners from industry.
Write and edit content for NYP’s website, and other relevant platforms to reach different audience segments.
Manage the preparation and submission of the Annual Report to relevant stakeholders.
[What we are looking for]
Relevant qualification in communications, journalism, public relations or relevant disciplines.
Relevant working experience in communications.
We are prepared to offer a more senior role commensurate with skills and experience.
Candidates without experience but with relevant qualifications and a strong passion for communications are welcome to apply.
Knowledge
Good understanding of media platforms, and how to leverage these to engage the desired audience
Skills
Excellent spoken and written English language communication skills
Proficiency in your mother tongue will be considered favourably
Editing/content creation experience (words, visual posters, or video) will be helpful
Good project management skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
