[What the role is]
Lecturer in School of Informatics & IT (DevOps)
[What you will be working on]
• Conduct lessons (Face-to-Face and Online) to adult learners and carry out all relevant responsibilities related to the teaching role. The lessons may be time-tabled during the day or evening or weekends;
• Design, develop and maintain new/existing teaching materials and assessments;
• Supervise and develop student capabilities in project work (including e-learning and self-directed learning);
• Assess and evaluate student assignments and their academic performances;
• Coach and mentor students to support their learning;
• Keep abreast of trends and developments in Cloud technologies and practices
[What we are looking for]
• Relevant experience in Information Technology, Computer Science and Operations field;
• Minimum 2 years of relevant industry experience in software development, DevOps practices or Cloud Technology, infrastructure development and operations;
• Familiar with at least two of the following:
o Familiar with Microsoft Azure, AWS or Google Cloud technologies
o Container orchestration services Kubernetes, Docker
o Familiarity with agile software development in Go, C/C++, Java, JavaScript
o Experience administering and deploying development CI/CD tools such as Git, Jira, GitLab, or Jenkins
o Significant experience with Windows and Linux operating system environments
o Experience with scripting languages such as Bash Shell, PowerShell, or Python
o Infrastructure Automation tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet
o Monitoring tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, or Splunk
o Understanding of cybersecurity in DevOps practices
• Experience with Agile, Scrum and DevSecOps concepts;
• A passion and genuine interest to share knowledge and interact with youth and adult learners;
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
