About the role
The Solution Architect will be part of SATS Architect Office and will provide architectural advisory and review system architectures and designs to support SATS system implementations. You will be the technical expert where people look to you for architectural advice and recommendations in alignment with best practices and security compliance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review system architectures and designs for any IT system implementations including SATS enterprise-wide implementations.
- Maintain and update the architectural guidelines, checklists and other architecture-related artifacts to support and continually improve the architectural review process.
- Work closely with Infrastructure & Operations team, Cybersecurity team and Technology Business Partners to assist or provide advisory support for matters that span across application, infrastructure, operations management and security.
- Work closely with SATS’ Managed Services Provider on on-premise deployments or cloud-based deployments and be involved in technical consultation and review processes.
- Perform secretarial duties for the Architecture Review Board, a committee that reviews and endorses system architectures, chaired by Head, Infrastructure & Operations.
- Explore and propose IT solutions to continually transform and optimize our IT assets to support SATS Digital Transformation journey and initiatives.
- Provide architecture and technical advisory during production incidents, as needed.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in Computer Science or related discipline
- Minimum 3 years of experience in technical / system design/solution architect roles
- Experience in Cloud-based designs or deployments
- Relevant knowledge in .NET or Java development, server-side architecture, Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), microservices, and containers
- Good understanding of best practices for application/system architecture design
- A relevant Cloud certification (e.g. Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) will be advantageous
- Project management skills will be advantageous
- Knowledge in Microsoft Office 365 and suite of products will be advantageous
- Strong analytical skills to identify solutions and provide recommendations
- Good team player with strong organisation skills
- Strong presentation and communication skills, both oral and written
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
