Main Responsibilities
- Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of retail-specific hardware and software systems, such as POS terminals, barcode scanners, cash registers, and payment gateways
- Support and troubleshoot POS systems to minimize downtime and disruptions in retail operations
- Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to implement and integrate retail systems, including inventory management, loyalty programs, and CRM systems
- Assist in managing retail databases for data integrity, availability, and security.
- Support and maintain networking infrastructure, including switches, routers, and wireless access points
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement enhancements and upgrades to retail systems, considering business impact
- Monitor system performance and optimize scalability to ensure optimal system functionality
- Assist in developing and executing disaster recovery and business continuity plans specific to the retail environment
- Provide end-user support and training on retail systems to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency
- Adhere to industry-specific security standards and compliance regulations for retail systems
- Stay updated on retail technology trends, emerging solutions and best practices, making recommendations to retail operations
Experience/Qualifications
- Higher NITEC or Diploma in Information Technology (ICT Systems, Services & Support)
- With IT-related working experience or internship, preferably in the retail industry
- Knowledge of Retail POS systems and hardware
- Understanding of networking concepts of SD-WAN, Physical or Virtual Server
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a time-sensitive retail environment
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with retail stakeholders and end-users
- Eagerness to learn and stay updated on new retail technologies and industry trends
