M&E Quantity Surveyor

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing proposals, negotiates, and administers pre and post contracts
  • Responsible for Tender Process/Submission including Site Visits, Tender Clarification, Negotiation with Sub–Con/Suppliers if required
  • Responsible for Bill of Quantity, Measurement of Quantity & Cost Estimation
  • Evaluate Tender Briefing & Site Show-round when required
  • Engagement with Consultants
  • Provide administrative support and maintain all required project information throughout each project for claim purposes to ensure the claim data are up-to-date and comprehensive
  • Monitor, track change orders, subcontractors’ drawing list and material delivery
  • Maintain records of proper documentation of correspondence from contract award to job completion to ensure all relevant claims of claim notice is lodged accordingly to the client.
  • Assist in reviewing subcontractor invoices and claims at regular intervals to ensure subcontractor invoices are accurate and in compliance with subcontract terms and conditions
  • Assess and prepare payment claims to client and coordinate with submitting invoices
  • Assess and prepare payment responses to consortium, subcontractors and others to ensure compliance with SOP act
  • Ensure that all contractual notices are issued in accordance with the conditions of contract
  • Plan and advise management on contractual matters, progress payments, variation claims with subcontractor and client till end of contract
  • Such other duties and responsibilities as may be reasonably requested by your immediate supervisor / the head of department from time to time


Job Requirements

  • Diploma/ Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, EIAC preference) or equivalent
  • Preferably 4-6 years of relevant experience in construction industry, contract management, progress payment submissions and project claims
  • Proactive, multi-tasking, self-motivated and team player with the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Familiar with tendering, project cost control and strong ability in problem solving and organizing skills are desirable
  • Able communicate across all levels
  • Willing to work in Tuas
  • This is a 2 years contract role
