Role Summary

The Project Engineer of our Cleanroom Factory Automation department is a highly specialized position responsible for managing a team of engineers, subcontractors, and vendors on a project site involving the installation of our warehouse automation systems. The Project Engineer has high familiarity on automated material handling systems and understands the technical requirements involved in the installation of such systems. The Project Engineer also serves as an important communication bridge between the engineering team from Japan and the local project members to resolve any technical issues during the project.


This position is on contract basis for the duration of the project, which is estimated to be 1.5 years.


Role and Responsibilities

  1. Manage a team of local engineers, subcontractors, and vendors to complete work required for an installation project within a given time frame.
  2. Resolve site issues with subcontractors, vendors, and other third-parties that are involved in the project.
  3. Manage the project work schedule to ensure that the project can be completed on time.
  4. Resolve any technical issues related to our warehouse automation systems that are beyond the capabilities of the local engineering team.
  5. Communicate and escalate any high-level issues with the design team in Japan, following-up to achieve resolution for such issues.
  6. Attend regular meetings and communications with relevant stakeholders, both internal and external, on the progress of the project.
  7. Provide training and guidance for the local junior engineers who are taking part in the project.


Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • At least 10 years of experience on installation projects involving automated material handling systems.
  • High degree of Japanese language proficiency for business communication with our Japanese counterparts.


Preferred Qualities

  • Familiarity with automated material handling systems is essential.
  • Independent individual with high initiative as our company’s primary representative at the project site.
  • Able to commit for the duration of the project.
