Senior Executive, Policies & Plans (Asset Management)

Primary Objectives of Positions

  • The main scope is to assess, understand and predict the performance, integrity and condition of assets and enable timely interventions via Asset Condition Assessment (ACA) to maintain overall railway network reliability for SBS Transit operating lines (DTL, NEL, SPLRT)

Main Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the follow up of the entire ACA cycle based on developed ACA framework.
  • Working together with the ground engineers and technicians to ensure timely and accurately update of the ACA checklist.
  • Promote communication and collaboration within the team and also with other colleagues in the company.
  • Undertake thorough and detailed interpretation and analysis before making recommendation on the need for interventions, especially renewal (total replacement at Subsystem and/or System level.
  • Responsible for the regular reporting of the raw asset conditions data or its translated Condition Indexes (according to the ACA framework) to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Responsible for tracking & monitoring for digital trending and potential exploration of using data analytics algorithm to forecast deterioration rate of assets' condition by working with the colleagues from Digitalisation Section (under Asset Management)
  • On the Second & Third Cycle and beyond, responsible to communicate and work together with the ground maintenance crew to continue to execute.
  • The above activities are by no means exhaustive and are subject to amendment whenever needed.

Job Specifications


Minimum Education / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering

Minimum Years of Relevant Experience

  • 3 years of working experience in an engineering environment

Knowledge/Skills

  • Strong in the utilisation of IT using minimum the Microsoft Offices suite and ability to exploit it for productivity Familiarity.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work co-operatively with all levels in SBS Transit
  • Strong organizational skills to work independently and under the pressure of tight timeline.
  • Meticulous to details with high degree of accuracy and excellent follow-up skills via writing and document change/amendments.
  • Ability to exercise good judgement and discretion, especially with regards to sensitive or confidential matters.
  • Strong team player with excellent written and oral communication skills
