The key duties and responsibilities of the role include (but are not limited to):
- Reporting to the Core Network Manager
- Roaming Strategy for the company as a key differentiator
- Negotiation of roaming agreements and inter-operator tariffs (IOTs)
- Responsible in ensuring competitive IoT rates with Simba’s bilateral roaming partners and carriers
- Negotiation of bilateral and wholesale voice agreements to achieve the lowest cost base for Simba
- Negotiation and management of A2P SMS/RCS business
- Interact with network and IT teams to implement roaming and voice connections and facilitate appropriate tests
- Interact with Finance for inter-operator and inter-carrier settlements, including disputes
- Support escalation of international roaming, A2P SMS and international voice issues
- Interact with marketing on retail strategy
The candidate should possess the below qualities to fulfil the needs of the role:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications, IT, Computer or Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience
- Proven track record on bilateral 4G/5G roaming launches and wholesale voice agreement negotiations and sign-offs.
- Firm understanding on GSMA IREG Roaming procedures
- Solid grasp on current commercial market with regards to bilateral 4G data, VoLTE roaming, international IDD and SMS, wholesale voice and A2P SMS tariffs
- Solid negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge in 3GPP mobile IMS, EPC, SS7, MAP, SIP and IREG
- 5G VoNR and 5G roaming knowledge with CCNA and PMP certification will be an added advantage
- Ability to swiftly achieve alignment with multiple internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to adapt, navigate and excel in a dynamic fast paced environment
