Your Job
The Automation Design Engineer will design and develop automated assembly machine for production, and involved in improvements and technical support for existing production. You will also be responsible in design machine, jig and fixture within budget and timeline and managing drawing updates during designing and debugging. You will be working extensively with cross-functional teams.
Our Team
The Automation Design Engineer will be part of the Automation Engineering team in Singapore and working within Machine Design and Process Improvement areas.
What You Will Do
· Design for semi-auto/ Fully auto machine or Fixture for new product and improvement on existing process with both quality and cost consideration
· Improve existing machine to meet new requirement
· Create machine 3D,2D drawing, bill of material list and ensure all drawings up to date
· Conduct machine design review to ensure design meet requirement
· Provide technical advice and troubleshooting support during Machine assembly or debug phase
· Provide machine sequence and time chart for programming
· Provide documentation of tooling spare lists and training to process & maintenance engineers, technicians
· and operators so that they are fully competent in maintaining and running new production machines.
· Liaise with fabricator on drawing issue
· Provide support for sample built and machine qualification
· Review new product design with cross function team to ensure new products can be manufacturable
· Brainstorm and apply any new technology that create value in term to bring up our efficiency or machine/
· process capability in return bring profit to the organization
· Assist the other teams when there is an imbalance of workloads due to urgency of other job or on leaves or
· reservist (All instructions will be given by supervisor / manager).
· Share relevant knowledge and new ideas to solve manufacturing problems or needs. Gather & share of best
· practices, lessons learned (success & failure), prevent re-inventing, and challenge existing.
· All activities & development must comply with laws & regulations, and meet all safety & standard
· requirements
· To adopt, comply & practice PBM philosophy & Guiding Principles for the job carry out under your
· Responsibility
· Business travel may be required from time to time.
· Other duties as assigned by Management
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
· Diploma/Degree in any engineering field with at least 2 years of relevant experience
· Ability to design assembly machine, jig and fixture with guidance
· Ability to complete 2D engineering independently
· Ability to use 3D software
· Ability to problem solve and adapt to changes
· Good presentation & communication skills
What Will Put You Ahead
· Connectors process working experience
· Knowledge of NX software
· Knowledge and experience with GD&T, DFM, FMEA, Vision System, Robotic, Lean Manufacturing
· Six Sigma and Problem Solving Methodology
