Team Summary

The Unified Checkout Team in Platform Solutions is accountable for product development and market deployment of various digital platforms and capabilities across the Asia Pacific region. This includes core platforms such as Visa Account Updater, Visa Click to Pay, Visa Developer, and development of specific solutions designed to address unique market needs or opportunities.

Click to Pay is a guest checkout solution that allows issuers, merchants and their partners to reduce friction associated with manual key entry, simply and securely, when checking out online, in app, or in person. Together with the end user solution provider, our digital platforms help to deliver a superior customer experience, stronger customer engagement, higher spend, lower fraud and stronger authentication.

The Unified Checkout  team is a horizontal business unit that works with many stakeholder groups and markets, across the Asia Pacific region and globally. We partner with account management, product, processing, and design and architecture teams. We partner to deliver product and market strategy, solution design, education and training materials, sales and distribution assets, product development, product commercialisation. Click to Pay is a critical component within a number of key initiatives in the Asia Pacific region and underpins future network and client product capabilities.

What a Director, Unified Checkout does at Visa

As a Director operating within the Solutioning team, you will be a leader who understands the strategic, commercial, technical, and ecosystem implications of both product launch and product development. You will engage with a diverse range of stakeholder groups in our AP markets and regional hub to motivate, influence, and provide advice or direction. Your main accountabilities will include

  • Identifying, understanding, and narrating key insights and trends that will inform our client facing stakeholders, including presentation materials, case studies, best practice guides, reports, and webinars.
  • Assessing market requirements against strategic drivers and recommending appropriate investment or mitigation strategies including commercial, policy, and technical considerations.
  • Representing the views of internal stakeholders to AP markets and clients, intermediate and resolve conflict, use initiative and judgement to actively promote or enhance the product consistent with strategy.
  • Proposing and designing technical, commercial, or strategic solutions to solve complex problems or to leverage opportunities.
  • Providing direction on commercial objectives and outcomes including agreements, rules and guides, pricing and exceptions.
  • Specialised sales and business development support, including ownership of programs and initiatives which deliver on VAS revenue objectives.
  • Designing stakeholder training programs which support delivery of key initiatives, and engaging regularly with internal stakeholders to ensure they are receiving adequate support to achieve their objectives.

They will also represent a cost effective, timely, and low complexity path to achieving reach, scale, and extensibility for our clients. Your part to play is underwriting the promise our digital products aim to achieve by delivering high quality and consistent product development and market deployment of Click to Pay or Visa SRC solutions across the AP region.

What you will need:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a combination of
    • product management of a technical product or service
    • sales, marketing, or corporate communications for a technology company
  • A creative and positive attitude, a passion for technology, drive to deliver product excellence, and motivate people.
  • An ability to synthesise complex topics and paint a vision for stakeholders and clients aligned to business long term strategy.
  • Strong planning, organising, stakeholder management, and communication skills
  • Strong ability to deliver on milestone targets, and large-scale product and client initiatives
  • Expert understanding of payment systems, technology and how APIs and SDKs can deliver value in the context of our business, and our client’s business.
  • Be able to translate technical solutions and user experience into scalable business outcomes including potential for value added service revenues.
  • Contract management or client contract negotiation
  • Knowledge and experience working in an agile environment
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or business management, or equivalent experience

Projects you will be a part of:

There are two key initiatives that you will be instrumental in delivering:

  • Over the last decade, Visa has invested heavily in digital platforms including Visa Token Service and Visa Click to Pay. Over the last 24 to 36 months the AP region has focused on delivering and scaling digital solutions for stored credentials. Over the next 24 to 36 months the AP region will focus on delivering and scaling digital solutions for guest checkout. As a result you will lead a program of work to significantly scale Click to Pay and other Visa Secure Remote Commerce solutions in key markets and across the region. You will be accountable for developing and delivering sales and distribution assets, working with markets to define effective initiatives or programs, and defining and delivering platform enhancements to address market needs.
  • Value added products and services represent an opportunity to differentiate our business in the market, delivering meaningful benefits to our clients, and creating non-core revenue streams for Visa. Your accountabilities will also include working with Design and Architecture, and Regional Solutions teams to deliver Visa Service Orchestration (VSO), managing the development of assets to deliver new or existing value added services on top of Click to Pay, and providing insight and direction in relation to pricing and strategy for revenue generating services delivered on Click to Pay or via platforms such as VSO and Visa SRC.
