SUMMARY:
• To develop and promote Air and Ocean business growth on specific markets namely UK / Singapore / UK and UK-Singapore / India / UK-Singapore by formulating trade lane strategies and coordinating day-to-day activities between the company operations and agent. Other markets can be added at the discretion of the company and our agent’s management teams.
• Maintain and enhance relationships with existing customers on aforementioned lanes.
• To develop a deep understanding of the company and agent business solutions.
• Formulating sales promotion strategies in coordination with the company and agent management, local sales teams at origin and destination and the company key Account Team (when / if needed).
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Establishment of clear policies and strategies in mentioned countries in partnership with origin / destination offices.
• Continuous growth of local and self-controlled customers in conjunction with our agent as well as local Asia sales teams (if/where applicable).
• Arrange direct visits to both existing and potential customers.
• Creation of qualified sales leads for agent’s UK and India teams.
• Coordination and follow-up of all sales leads received from / sent to agent.
• Give agent and local sales team commercial and communication support if/when needed.
• Maintain & enhance agent/partner relationships.
• Establish and implement general SOPs in line with customer/s requirements.
• Organization and execution of schedules for overseas visitors and potential customers.
• Documentation of all sales activities in respective Pipeline system to be shared on a regular basis with agent.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assistance when required to chase payment from local customers.
• Use market and cultural knowledge to ensure smooth relations between all staff at and agent’s UK / India teams.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
• Extensive knowledge of forwarding and logistics activities throughout all levels of the processes.
• Specifically, knowledge of operational procedures, both export and import, air and ocean freight would be advantageous but focus being on Airfreight.
• Candidates with an operational background wishing to move into sales would be considered.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently using initiative and to work as a team player
• Strong desire and ability to provide suggestions how to improve processes and increase the overall sales performance.
• Excellent command of English both oral and written.
• Sound knowledge on all Microsoft office products.
