Automation Engineer
Job Description Summary:
The Automation Engineer shall be responsible for system design, development, testing and commissioning of Pneumatic Waste Collection System (PWCS). The Engineer shall be required to assist Operation for troubleshooting and project system upgrade.
Responsibilities
1. Work in any Envac PWCS project sites and comply with all the necessary requirements.
- Responsible for system design, development, hardware and software troubleshooting, and testing and commissioning of Pneumatic Waste Collection system including development of technical documentation.
- Responsible for translation of Contractual and Classification Requirement into functional specification for project.
- Perform integration of third-party equipment/system/software.
- Implement Beckhoff PLC and Beijer HMI project.
- Manage software configuration and perform test and simulation on control systems as necessary.
- Execute system upgrading works for ongoing operation projects.
- Support Maintenance team on solving automation issues, and cross functional teams on project execution.
- Oversee and manage automation control systems with proper team coordination.
- Liaise with clients, vendors, and internal teams for successful project execution.
- To get involve in design and integration reviews for further system development.
- To work closely with Operation and Maintenance Department for all the operational projects (HDBs, Hospitals, Kitchen, and Private Residential & Commercial)
- Regular updates for any project’s development such as project status, fulfil clients’ requirements, pending works update, etc.
- The job may involve taking on new duties and projects as the role matures, providing an opportunity for professional growth and development.
Qualifications:
1. Diploma/Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent from a recognised institution.
2. He/she should have at least 3 years of relevant experience in PLC programming and electrical/control systems design and development in an equipment or automation/system integration company.
3. Strong background in PLC Programming and electrical systems with experience in troubleshooting electrical control circuits. SCADA development will be an advantage.
4. Must be familiar with common industry PLCs such as Mitsubishi, Beckhoff, etc.
5. Knowledge of programming languages (structure text)
Additional Qualifications and Skills:
1. Knowledge of standard communication protocols like Modbus RTU/TCP, Ethercat, Ethernet/IP, Profibus, RS422, RS 485, Lon Works, OPC UA, and MQTT is preferred.
2. Substantial understanding and knowledge of principles, theories and relevant engineering concepts.
3. Knowledge in computer networking and control system design.
4. Knowledge in electrical system design and troubleshooting.
5. Proven computer skills of MS Office.
6. Strong documentation, communication (for example, written and verbal) and interpersonal relationship skills.
7. Strong problem-solving, organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills.
8. Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels.
9. Able to work well with others, responsible, hardworking, and committed and be able to work under pressure and tight schedule.
10. Passionate about technical excellence and willing to provide the best support to internal team and customers.
