Duties
- Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot a large-scale production content delivery network (CDN) utilizing server infrastructure in data centers worldwide
- Provide expertise to local vendor support staff in data center sites
- Schedule and perform server deployments, upgrades and maintenance tasks as assigned with limited impact to the production environment.
- Use internal tools and scripts to configure, monitor, and repair servers and network equipment
- Proactively develop scripts to improve deployment processes
- Contribute to technical documentation and processes as they evolve
- Actively contribute to a global team environment.
Skills
- Must have experience in data center deployments, building large-scale infrastructure, and providing support for Linux based servers and top of rack switches.
- Strong proficiency in Linux operating systems.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex situations and utilize troubleshooting skills, systems and tools, and creative problem-solving abilities under pressure
- Experience in shell scripting and knowledge of Python and/or Perl.
- Experience with Service Provider network hardware platforms and architectures including routers/switches and data center switching platforms is preferred (Good to have)
- Knowledge of network routing and switching concepts and protocols including BGP, TCP/IP, VLAN, ISIS, OSPF, and MPLS (Good to have)
- Experience with field-based work in data centers
- Ability to work in fast-paced and dynamic environments with limited supervision
- Strong attention to detail with excellent time management and organization skills
