Marine Responsibilities:
- Support the coordination and scheduling of Oil Major Vetting Inspections as instructed.
- Conduct Marine and pre-vetting inspections on vessels as required. Ensure all identified deficiencies during vessel inspections are documented and stored in a shared drive.
- Perform annual onboard navigation audits, ideally during short voyages. Input audit results into the navigation database and follow up on any identified issues until they are resolved.
- Participate in accident investigations and root cause analyses.
- Serve as a member of the Emergency Response Team.
- Assist in organizing external safety audits and onboard training, in collaboration with the designated audit or training companies.
- Oversee cosmetic upgrades such as painting.
- Monitor and provide support to vessels (in coordination with the Operations team) for operational matters such as loading, discharging, tank cleaning, and grade changes.
Quality and Compliance Responsibilities:
- Aid in the implementation of Health, Safety, Security, Quality, and Environmental Policies, including sailing onboard for short trips to implement the HSSEQ System on new vessels.
- Contribute to the periodic management review of HSSEQ system, document review findings, and suggest actions when necessary.
- Assist in maintaining and updating the HSSEQ Management System.
- Participate as a member of the internal Marine & HSSEQ audit team.
- Assist in planning, organizing, and participating in annual ISM & ISPS audits and ensure follow-up on corrective actions.
- Help investigate accidents, marine incidents, and near misses to identify root causes.
- Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of contingency plans for both the office and vessels.
- Collaborate with vessels on safety, navigation, operations, health, quality, security, and environmental matters, including responding monthly to Vessel Monthly Safety Reports and Near Miss Reports.
- Review safety-related reports from vessels and similar reports from other sources.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 10 years of sailing experience.
- At least 1 year of sailing experience as a Master on Tankers or Gas Carriers.
- Possess a good understanding of Quality Assurance and ISM, which is advantageous.
- Experience in Ship Vetting by major entities, as well as knowledge of Ship and Terminal Operations.
- Display a strong sense of responsibility, initiative, and a willingness to travel.
