An integral part of Singapore’s “City in a Garden” vision, Gardens by the Bay spans a total of 101 hectares of prime land at the heart of Singapore’s new downtown – Marina Bay. Comprising three waterfront gardens – Bay South, Bay East and Bay Central – Gardens by the Bay will be a showcase of horticulture and garden artistry that will bring the world of plants to Singapore and present Singapore to the World. RESPONSIBILITIES
You will be responsible for the husbandry and maintenance of the plants and displays in our Flower Dome, specifically the changing displays. You will be expected to plan and manage projects, provide advice and raise horticultural standards. You will be required to manage multiple stakeholders including horticulture vendors, collaboration partners and cultural groups who may be involved in the floral displays. You will also be expected to manage and contribute to programs and activities to provide a more immersive experience for our visitors through our floral displays.
QUALIFICATIONS- Degree in any discipline, preferably with 2 years’ of relevant working experience in a relevant field of work
- Possess a keen and passionate interest in plants and gardening with a focus on exceeding visitor expectations
- Assist in coming out with the concept art for floral displays and other installations in the conservatories
- Ability to work out innovative solutions to challenges which may arise
- Service-oriented team player who is prepared to be hands-on
- Experience in horticulture, plants and flowers would be an advantage
- Strong oral and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills to build relationships and cultivate collaborations and partnerships
- Good knowledge of various computer software and applications including Microsoft Office
- Able to work outside of normal operating hours for occasional night landscape installation to meet departmental target dates and/ or complete specific plant maintenance activities as well as cope with a dynamic working environment
- Flexible and willing to contribute in various ways to develop the Gardens into an attraction for all to own, enjoy and cherish
