An exceptional opportunity is available for a Project Director to join my client's team at one of the UK's premier organisations in event management and communications. They are at the forefront of revolutionising the communications, engagement, and events sectors. This is an extraordinary chance to architect a team from the ground up, setting new industry benchmarks in the newly set-up APAC office in Singapore.
About the Role
The Project Director leads the Project Management team to ensure projects are successful and profitable, while managing the workload & resourcing of the Project Management team. The Project Director should ensure a fruitful cross-functional team coordination while overseeing quality of delivery by the Project Management team.
- Manage budgets, project schedules, and resource allocation for concurrent projects that have been secured.
- Take charge of addressing and resolving project-related issues with both clients and internal teams.
- Assume the primary responsibility for reporting project progress, profitability, escalations, resourcing, and any other emerging concerns to the leadership team.
- Offer guidance and mentorship to the Project Management team, including junior project executives and interns, through hands-on training and career development plans.
- Supervise resource planning and workload distribution for the APAC project team to maintain a productive pace.
- Supervise the on-site Event team to ensure safety, efficiency, and delivery standards are consistently met, providing guidance and troubleshooting when necessary.
- Identify potential opportunities for ongoing projects throughout the project lifecycle and report these opportunities to the Client Strategy Director for account development.
- Establish and curate a comprehensive Vendor and Supplier database in collaboration with the Production team, and negotiate advantageous rates as needed.
- Work with the Client Strategy Director to provide relevant pitching teams with insights to steer client discussions around project value proposition and positioning during the pitching stages
- Work with relevant pitching teams to build quotes, by sourcing and negotiating vendor rates where required
- Work with the leadership team to build and improve internal project management processes
- Work with the leadership team to identify potential business opportunities
Requirements:
- 6-8 years of experience in the events industry leading projects at least SGD 800,000 - 1 million in value
- A positive thinker and keen learner, you are the kind of individual who takes ownership of your growth in your craft
- Regional event experience will be a plus but not compulsory
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent project and time management skills
- Works well in a well-paced, multi-cultural, and highly collaborative team
