- Assumes the role of leading, planning, and overseeing the QHSSE department’s activities.
- Fosters a genuine safety culture throughout all business divisions.
- Serves as the Designated Person Ashore (DPA) and Company Security Officer (CSO).
- Ensures the development of policies and procedures that align with industry best practices, such as OVMSA, Marine Safety Forum, Intertanko, etc.
- Enforces QHSSE standards on our vessels, employees (both onshore and at sea), and subcontractors.
- Establishes an efficient system to safeguard the well-being of personnel on board vessels and onshore.
- Accountable for generating reports on non-conformances, accidents, incidents, and near misses.
- Oversees both internal and external QHSSE audits for the Group.
- Manages the creation of Corrective and Preventive Action Plans.
- Responsible for the implementation of safety systems on board, including safety committees and inspections/audits.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in safety management within the maritime industry.
- Proficiency in regulatory processes and QHSE management systems, including ISO standards and the ISM code.
- Strong communication skills in written and spoken English.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in change management and conflict resolution.
- Holds certifications as a lead auditor, incident investigator, DPA, and CSO.
- The company has established basic criteria for shore personnel, particularly managers and superintendents in operations, technical, QHSSE, and crewing departments, to ensure effective fleet management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
