Moving Services Assistant
This role reports to the Supervisor/Moving Services. The Moving Services Assistant will collect and dispatch customers’ goods/items and ensures the safety of the items under his care.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensures that items are delivered in good condition to our customers promptly.
- Prepares and packs customers’ items to prevent damage during transit (include taking apart furniture, wrapping items in bubble wrap or stretch wrap, putting loose items in boxes and sealed bags, and using straps and cardboard sheets on large items).
- Loads and unloads customers’ items from their premises to the moving truck and places them in the desired location safely.
- Arranges items in the truck to fit the load and prevents objects from falling or getting damaged.
- Keeps track of customer’s items to ensure nothing gets lost in transit.
- Attends to customers’ questions and addresses requests on their preferences on the move.
- Maintains a positive, empathetic and professional attitude toward customers at all times.
- Performs daily checking on vehicle and reports any fault / problem discovered during checks before driving out to ensure road roadworthiness of vehicle.
- Ensures cleanliness of vehicle.
- Any other duties assigned by Supervisor.
Requirements:
- N/O level or NITEC in any field.
- Able to read, write and communicate in simple English.
- Team player with positive attitude and willing to learn.
- Physically demanding job, requires heavy lifting.
