A*STAR Infectious Diseases Labs (A*STAR ID Labs) is seeking for a Scientist to join us in our mission to be a leading centre of infectious diseases research. A*STAR ID Labs aims to develop a cohesive A*STAR response to drive and deliver translational infectious diseases research to better health and economic outcomes.
Job Description:
- To focus on bridging the knowledge gap of vector-pathogen-host interactions in mosquito-borne disease transmission.
- To understand the immune and pathogenic mechanisms during mosquito borne-virus infection to guide the development of targeted and effective control and treatment strategies
- Work with patient cohorts and relevant models (both in vitro and in vivo) of infectious disease
- Plan, schedule, co-ordinate, and lead multiple industry/research projects
- Design and conduct experiments including analyse, interpret, and present scientific results
- Conduct presentations to research collaborators and industry partners
- Develop new research techniques and approaches
- Work independently and with collaborators to develop new research ideas
Job Requirements:
- PhD in Biomedical Sciences, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, Biological Sciences, Infectious Diseases, Microbiology, Immunology, Biochemistry or related field
- At least 5 years of relevant experience
- Experience with cell culture and organoid models, mouse models, animal studies, cell biology, flow cytometry, cellular and molecular techniques, microscopy, handling with BSL-2 and BSL-3 pathogens will be an asset
- Experience with industry project management
- Strong background in Microbiology, Immunology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics and Genomics
