The School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering (EEE) invites applications for the position of Research Engineer (Software Engineer).
The Research Engineer (Software Engineer) will work on a joint research project between NTU and the company Singapore Power (SP). The research scope includes failure statistical modelling and survival analysis for power equipment (transformers, switchgears and cables), data analytics of fault data using AI/machine learning methods, reliability-centred maintenance (RCM) study using Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) to enhance reliability in a sustainable manner, and Failure mitigation optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop prototype software for failure mode analysis and mitigation optimization, with a research team.
- Software coding, test and manual writing
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science and Engineering, or related disciplines.
- A plus if having expert knowledge and project/research experience in failure mode analysis and mitigation optimization, or statistical modeling and survival analysis, or AI and data analysis, or optimization, or power system modeling and failure analysis
- Strong skills in programming and software development
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Good communication and writing in English.
- Good teamwork awareness.
- Strong responsibility for research / work.
