Head of Credit Risk

Responsibilities:

  • Drive the Bank’s Credit Risk Management Framework, including ongoing identification, assessment, monitoring, and reporting of key credit risk exposures
  • Responsible for credit approvals, credit collections, policies, and portfolio management, for the Bank’s Credit portfolios. He/she will be a key member of the Credit Risk Management Committee, and ensure that meetings are carried out as per the TOR’s, agenda items (per TOR) are tabled, and relevant material is circulated for both ad-hoc and regular deliberation. Additionally, the individual is also to ensure action items are diligently carried out to closure
  • Review and validate credit decision processes, ensuring a seamless experience across all customers
  • Collaborate with the Scorecards and Modelling team to ensure that the appropriate scorecards are built for relevant use cases. When adjustments are required, ensure swift remediation. Aside from the Scorecards and Modelling function, the individual will also collaborate pan-bank (including product and partnership teams, data scientists, and business teams), in the rollout of new products and the like
  • Conduct timely, anticipatory, and regular portfolio data analysis on post-lending accounts to identify the associated credit risks and problems and make appropriate recommendations on risk mitigation
  • Monitor the performance of corporate loan portfolios to ensure they comply with the bank-wide credit risk strategies, policies, and manuals
  • Solicit and analyze market-related information on the practice or trend of retail and corporate risk management, and make recommendations to Senior Management for procedural reviews
  • In terms of collections, the individual will drive the implementation of a new collections system, stabilize the collections framework and corresponding activities (legal, outsourcing agencies), and ensure full coverage of delinquent accounts from a dunning perspective. Ensure that the relevant collections metrics are tracked regularly, and loss recognition is as per regulations/guidelines
  • Ensure that the feedback loop is also complete, with tweaks made to policies from the activities that are going on at the end of the collection
  • Participate actively in cross-border business initiatives, and set frameworks for roll out of such initiatives

Requirements:

  • Degree or above with a major in Mathematics, Statistics, Information Systems, or Financial Engineering or etc.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in the banking or financial industry
  • Self-initiated, excellent analytical skills and ability to handle multi-tasks under a tight schedule
  • Proficient in English and Mandarin to communicate with our Mandarin-speaking stakeholders
  • Proficient in computer applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SQL, data analytics tools, etc
