Kukoh+ is a child and youth development facility under Yong-en Care Centre that is dedicated to addressing the cognitive, linguistic, and social-emotional gaps caused by severe economic inequalities. The centre provides an extended childminding service for the children of low-income parents who are working late or attending evening classes. In collaboration with volunteer educational specialists, the programme is moving towards an emergent-focused curriculum, with an added emphasis on the Hundred Languages of Children.
We are seeking candidates who are passionate, creative, and child-centred. Qualifications and experience in the field of Early Childhood Education would be a considerable advantage.
Job Responsibilities
- Undertake basic admissions procedures based on pre-established intake criteria.
- Develop curriculum and implement lessons under supervision.
- Track and compile programme data.
- Orientate and train volunteers to support in the administration of the programme.
- Coordinate with external organisations and stakeholders to optimize resources.
- Evaluate the needs of children and collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to address service gaps.
- Attend to public enquiries.
- Maintain proper records and support in the preparation of scheduled reports.
- Undertake any other projects or duties assigned.
Job Requirements
- A Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education, Early Intervention (Special Education), Psychology, Social Work, or a related field, with at least 2-5 years of relevant experience working with children and families.
- Prior knowledge and experience relating to Emergent Curriculum, or the Reggio Emilia approach would be highly advantageous.
- Creative, resourceful, proactive, responsible, client-centric, with strong problem-solving skills.
- Honest, resilient, and passionate about working with young children and their families.
- Strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to converse in English, and or Mandarin/Malay (to handle queries and concerns from English, Mandarin or Malay-speaking beneficiaries).
- Proficiency in MS Office to generate report and basic presentations.
- Committed to safeguarding client’s confidentiality in accordance with PDPA regulations.
- Willing to accommodate a schedule that includes evenings and Saturdays (half-day).
The appointment package will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
