The opportunity
The incumbent will have to take on a multi-faceted task, working with several departments and stakeholders, usually at a fast and intensive pace given the focus to bring the turnaround time down significantly. This position would also be one to possess a strong command in the English language as there would be many instances that requires reading through of legal and investment document like the general terms and conditions or the private placement memorandum just to name a few. The incumbent is expected to also be working closely with business analyst and developers on the UAT aspect to deliver test outcomes within the specified timeline. Month-end journal postings for VUL as well as regulatory reporting like MAS 122 can be expected. Basic understanding in financial instruments along with having some experience in using the Bloomberg terminal would be advantageous.
Responsibilities
- To be heavily involved with VUL Ops and activities. Through it the incumbent can expect to have many opportunities in collaborating with other non-Finance counterparts, both internal and external.
- To look for ways to streamline current VUL processes and review the current controls periodically to identify any control gaps.
- Will be involved in UAT verification and coordination which requires soft skills and the ability to work independently during peak period.
- Provides coverage for the team manager in the manager’s absence when it comes to matters involving VUL and UAT.
- Provide inputs to stakeholders and updates to team on requirement/ process change.

What we are looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- At least 5 years’ worth of experience in operational role(s)
- Basic knowledge in financial instruments and experience in Bloomberg an advantage
- Past experiences in User Acceptance Testing
- Meticulous in accuracy and independent in fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills
- Excellent team player
