1. ROLE PURPOSE
The role is placed in the Youth Corps Development Team (YCDT) within SHINE Children & youth Services. The objective of the YCDT is to build Youth Volunteer Management Capabilities and roll out Community Service Programmes at SG Cares Volunteer Centre (VCs), Social Service Agencies (SSAs) and Public Agencies to support locale-based volunteering. The role contributes towards championing youth volunteerism, synergise collaboration and build capabilities of partners in the sector to enable youth volunteerism.
2. STEWARDSHIP
a) Co-create a healthy team culture for team success, professional growth and personal growth of each team member.
b) Work towards achieving the project outcomes of:
· Curating sustainable youth volunteerism projects in the community
· Recruitment and engagement of youth volunteers
· Youth volunteer management capabilities
· Capability-building of youth volunteers
c) Work with various internal stakeholders to identify meaningful youth volunteerism opportunities and facilitate the recruitment, selection, placement, and retention of youth volunteers for these.
d) Ensures good stewardship of financial, manpower and organizational resources in achieving the project outcomes.
3. COMMUNITY PARTNER ENGAGEMENT
Partnering stakeholders like government agencies, social service agencies and other community partners to curate locale-based volunteer opportunities. These include but is not limited to:
a. Identify existing/ new areas of need in the community and how youth volunteers can contribute
b. Working together with community partners to deliver shared outcomes and goals for events/ programmes.
4. YOUTH DEVELOPMENT
Mentoring and guiding youth volunteers to implement meaningful community projects and also develop personally.
5. IMPACT & SUSTAINABILITY
Assist in the reporting of project progress to relevant stakeholders.
6. TRAINING CONTENT CURATION AND DELIVERY
Curate content and deliver orientation and training for volunteers to be equipped for deployment. These include but is not limited to:
a. Refine existing orientation & training content for events/ programmes
b. Design new orientation & training content for new events/ programmes
c. Deliver the training in collaboration with community partners
7. STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT OF SHINE’S VPD CAPABILITY
Actively participate in SHINE’s Volunteer Partnerships Architect team to shape and drive effective and efficient volunteer partnerships in SHINE through relevant policy, strategy and organizational development projects.
