Job Responsibilities
· Providing end user support: This involves helping to keep employees productive, or assisting external customers via telephone, email, chat or on-site support.
· Perform onboarding and offboarding for employees: This involves account creations, hardware preparation, deployment and inventory updates.
· Managing and monitoring all installed systems and infrastructure: This involves ensuring that all systems and infrastructure at multiple sites are functioning optimally.
· Installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools: This includes ensuring that all software and tools are up-to-date.
· Ensuring the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability: This involves making sure that all systems are available when needed.
· Monitoring and testing application performance for potential bottlenecks: This involves identifying possible solutions and working with developers and vendors to implement those fixes.
· Maintaining security, backup, and redundancy strategies: This involves ensuring that all data is secure and backed up regularly.
· Writing and maintaining custom scripts to increase system efficiency: This involves lowering the human intervention time on any tasks.
· Participating in the Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity (BCP) exercise: This involves planning, testing and documentation of processes/procedures/scenarios.
· Liaising with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution: This involves working with other IT professionals to resolve any issues that may arise.
· Maintaining IT documentation: This involves actively creating and updating outdated documentation.
· Assist with project work: This involves supporting the project team on infrastructure related request. E.g. setting up AWS infrastructure/environment.
Job Specifications:
· Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
· Proven experience in IT operations, systems administration, or a similar role.
· Working knowledge of VMware ESXi and AWS (or any mainstream public cloud provider).
· Strong knowledge of operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux), network protocols, and server hardware.
· Proficient with Microsoft 365 suite.
· Understanding of security principles and best practices, including patch management and vulnerability assessment.
· Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash) to automate tasks and streamline operations.
· Ability to assist with troubleshooting issues and propose resolutions.
· Good communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical stakeholders.
· Strong attention to detail.
