• Supervise and perform general repairs to equipment, namely pumps, start panels, air-conditioning units, kitchen equipment’s, electrical appliances, lightings and sanitary works
• Ensure all safety standard and local code requirements, including fire codes, are compliant. The codes apply to lifts, electrical installation, plumbing, scaffolding works and building
• Report any serious maintenance problems, unusual findings, or safety hazards immediately to the Chief Engineer
• Liaise and communicate effectively with general contractors, and internal customers (Department/Section Heads) for Engineering related work, namely utilities supply (water, gas, electricity), sanitation, fire repair of buildings and furniture and daily repairs
• Implement and maintain operation procedure for equipment, such as pumps, chillers, generators, electrical switchboard, and cooling towers. Carry out periodical test for the generator and fire alarm panel
• Maintain and control maintenance stock inventory. Record incoming and outgoing stock for daily usage. Carry out periodical stock check to ensure that the stock par is maintained and level of slow moving items is kept at a minimum
• Motivate, discipline, counsel and train Engineering staff when required
• Ensure that the daily SOP are done with daily recording of utilities meter reading, and plants.
• Assists Chief Engineer in liaising with the contractors and department concerned to ensure that projects are met with requirements, and carried out within specified deadline and with least interruption to The Hotel’s operation
• Carry out physical inspection of plants and building. Ensure that the plant and machinery are operated within manufacturers’ operation specifications and if any deviation occurs, investigations and necessary repairs shall be executed. Physical inspection is carried out on a periodical basis to ensure that the building are free of structural cracks or water leakages
• Prepare, analyse and review Technical Reports on breakdowns and proposals
• Handle ad-hoc projects whenever required and assigned by the Chief Engineer
Qualifications
• Diploma or Higher Nitec in Mechanical Engineering /Building Services/ Estate Management or its equivalent
Experience
• 5 years working experience in Facilities Management
