To support and promote children’s mental well-being through leading the team in developing evidence-informed group work and workshops for children, educators/parents, so as to support the holistic development of the child. Conduct rigorous assessment and provide basic psychosocial, behavioural interventions to children in need. The purpose is to ensure that child’s mental well-being is supported so that they can grow up strong and healthy.
Scope of Job Role
- To provide supervision of the practice team to develop, design, plan, facilitate, monitor, evaluate and review therapeutic group work to address issues of target groups (Target group: 7-12 years old). This includes supporting children’s mental wellness through building resilience, supporting them to regulate their emotions, equipping them with protective behaviours, building their pro-social skills and other emerging needs
- Implement intervention plans and monitor progress
- Revise and evaluate effectiveness of intervention for children and/or caregivers
- Maintain up to date case documentation
- To work collaboratively with child’s support networks-parents, educators and community partners to address the needs
- To support children in-risk identified on our helpline/chatline services through casework & counselling
- Conduct risk assessment, safety planning and implement safety plans as appropriate
- Liaise with agencies and make service referrals, when required
- Work closely with Research Department to develop/refine evaluation tools for group work interventions
Job Requirements
- Degree in social work/counselling/psychology or in related discipline or Post graduate diploma in social work
- At least 5 years of experience working with children (7-12 years old), parents in counselling, casework, programme development and group work
- Supervisory experience
- Strong group work facilitation skills

- Good written and oral communication
- Trained in SSSG
- Trauma-informed
- Able to provide psychological first aid
- Possess knowledge of the social service and school landscape/resources
- Ability to do basic research and evaluation

- Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player
- Strong engagement skills with various stakeholders
- Able to work independently and in a team
- Experienced in creative engagements for social service programmes in both virtual and face-to-face formats
