Assistant / Purchasing Manager

  • Develop and oversee the reporting of stock inventory.
  • Evaluate and determine optimal products and suppliers considering factors like value, delivery timelines, and quality.
  • Facilitate communication between suppliers, manufacturers, contractors, shipyards, relevant internal departments, and the internal Shipping Department.
  • Identify prospective suppliers, visit established suppliers, and cultivate and sustain positive relationships with them.
  • Negotiate and finalize contracts, while also monitoring their progress and verifying the quality of services rendered.
  • Process payments and invoices following thorough verification and review.
  • Uphold the Company’s purchase flow process, ensuring the Shipping Department’s compliance with the process.
  • Provide training and supervision for purchasing executives.
  • Effectively manage the Company’s launch schedule.
  • Fulfill any additional responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Willing to head outdoors to meet suppliers/contractors, purchase spare parts etc
  • 5 years’ experience in Purchasing function, particularly in Shipping Industry
  • Experience in ship docking management
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Cost conscious and good negotiation skills
  • With managerial skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • With System integrator experience
