Preschool English Teacher

Cambridge Cdc @ Dairy Farm Pte. Ltd.

Provides a stimulating, safe, and developmentally appropriate educational environment where preschool children have the opportunity to develop cognitive, social, emotional, and physical skills. Responsible planning and conducting lessons, developing and implementing early childhood programmes to a group of children in the centre, providing routine care and ensuring the smooth procedures of child development activities.



Duties & Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement a holistic and developmentally appropriate early childhood curriculum.
  • Plan and execute children's curriculum based on child development knowledge, design the learning environment.
  • Support a safe and healthy environment for the care and development of children in the centre.
  • Maintain classroom tidiness, ensuring environment is conducive for children’s learning and development
  • Provide activities, apparatus and equipment to support the various curriculum areas.
  • Plan outdoor learning experiences and field trips/learning journey.
  • Ensure that centre’s service meets the needs of children, parents and families.
  • Keep records of daily lesson plans and children’s attendance.
  • Interact with children and encourage participation.
  • Assess each child’s learning needs through observation, ongoing / periodic assessment.
  • Prepare progress report and ePortfolio.
  • Record proper written logs for any incidences/accidents that may occur in the centre and inform the Principal and parents immediately.
  • Plan and provide activities to involve children in all aspects of early childhood school life, monitor attendance, and maintain guidance, health and food services for the children.
  • Meet with parents and staff to discuss students’ progress.
  • Model appropriate and respectful behavior to the children and fellow colleagues.


Experience, Qualifications and Training Requirements

  • At least 5 GCE “O’ level credits including EL or MT
  • Diploma in Pre-school Education - Teaching (DPE-T) / Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education (DECCE-T), or its equivalent recognised by ECDA
  • Registered with ECDA and attained a L2 certification

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Demonstrate good active communicative skills
  • Demonstrate effective leadership and supervisory skills
  • Adequate knowledge of current early childhood care and education development theories, research and practices
  • Ability to work well with children and families
  • Is familiar of government regulations, quality assurance framework (Child Care Act and Regulation, SPARK etc
