About the Team

Ecommerce's Governance and Experience is a global team responsible for ensuring our marketplace is safe and trustworthy for not only users, but also sellers and creators. We value user satisfaction and work on policies, rules and systems to ensure quality.


Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted advisor to leadership by building a view of industry trends, user needs and competitive benchmarking to inform business opportunities.
  • Identify new/emerging players in global markets, from which best practices can be learned and developed for governance.
  • Gather user and competitor insights and share final output to key stakeholders.
  • Conduct industry and trends analysis to identify opportunities for innovation & differentiation.
  • Maintain a gap analysis of product and policy needs for customer and seller segments, to drive comparisons with other competitors in the market.
  • Drive strategy planning process and alignment with immediate and cross-functional partners.
  • Take a long-term view of the business and define market positioning and target segments.
  • Lead market research and definition for department wide strategic initiatives that are instrumental to governance operations (e.g. New product launch).
  • Perform data cleaning and utilise data analytics to translate complex questions via insights into solutions to support business decisions.
  • Use data visualisations effectively with the aim of gaining insights and making decisions.
  • Refine business demand inputs and support global planning to optimize GNE resource allocation.
  • Be informed of the latest trends and development in SEA trends and competitors development to share with leadership team on a regular basis.

Qualifications

  • Relevant work experience in consulting, corporate strategy, governance, customer experience, etc.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Management (or relevant work experience).
  • Strong structuring skills and analytical mindset to be able to digest complex information and present them in a clear, understandable manner to senior management. Experience with SQL will be bonus.
  • Demonstrated ownership, leadership and self-direction. Willingness to both mentor and learn as a team player.
  • Excellent communication and task management skills, with experience interacting and building relationships with executive-level stakeholders.
  • Good at internal networking to understand where to gather competitive insights from stakeholders within and even outside the company.
  • Expert interview skills experience is preferred but not must-have; ability to question/challenge facts that have been presented to you and ability to link information from various sources to see the bigger picture and form broad understanding.
  • Knowledge of the E-commerce industry is highly desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to impact business decisions and suggest improvement through analytical insight.
  • Experience working with global stakeholders and teams or in an overseas environment.
